Hotel Aristeo is the best hotel we have stayed in. The staff is very friendly, very modern hotel, fantastic rooms, modern, spacious, great bathroom. Everything is clean and beautiful. The breakfast is the best we have ever had on a holiday. Great selection, fresh, fantastic coffee, wonderful atmosphere, ambiance, view of the harbor. Thank you Daniela for your hospitality, it was very comfortable and cozy! We had an apartment of 90 square meters! The house has everything you need (equipped kitchen, grill, etc.) A quiet and peaceful place! Daniela is always ready to help and answer all your questions, even those that do not relate to accommodation (for example, Daniela helped us find boat excursions, helped us find a car for rent since I did not have a credit card, and much more) Christina (Daniela’s assistant) She met my family with a smile at 22:30, told and showed everything! The place itself is the best I've seen. Variety of beaches (3 within walking distance) and we were on 3 beaches within a 10-minute drive! I can safely call many of these beaches TOP! There is also a cafe near the house, nice and cozy, and a 5-minute drive away you get to the center where there is a very cool pastry shop and restaurants! I was in Cagliari, Oristano, and Villasimius - Villasimius definitely takes first place in everything! I would recommend this holiday home to you both as a family and as a couple! Daniela, thank you! I'll come next year!

Amazing hotel. Exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly, offered us a welcome drink, and were super hospitable. The room was beyond our expectation - massive, beautiful furniture and bathroom, amazing views (see photos and video below). Right on the beach. This place is undersold. We had a seafood platter for dinner (€30), which the waiter put “all his love into”. It was delicious. Breakfast was amazing - beautiful baking, a freshly made omelette (or eggs as a choice) and delicious coffee. Just perfect.

Jewel of the Mediterranean

This fabulous Italian island is an exclusive holiday destination, so of all the Sardinia hotels 5 star properties make up a good proportion. Several are on the wonderful Emerald Coast, known for its stunning scenery. Because of the fantastic beaches and coves, this area (Costa Smeralda in Italian) houses some of the best Sardinia hotels for families.

Amazing Emerald Coast resorts include Porto Rotondo, Porto Cervo with its exclusive harbour, and Baia Sardinia. Palau overlooks the La Maddalena archipelago, a national park comprising peaceful islands. There are also several Sardinia hotels on the beach in Pula, a resort popular with locals.

Sardinia also has lots of history to explore. Close to Pula is Nora, where there are remains of a Roman town. Other Roman ruins are found in a dramatic setting at Tharros, near Oristano.

However, it’s the nuraghe - prehistoric megaliths - that are typically Sardinian. Found all over the island, these stone structures are incredibly well preserved. The most famous is Su Nuraxi in Barumini and there are several near Alghero, a walled city with narrow streets and a sandy beach. The prehistoric settlement at Tiscali in the Gennargentu mountains is most easily accessed from Dorgali.

    This is a small resort so even when fully booked in July it didn’t feel busy at all. A nice peaceful place to stay with friendly staff, a nice pool, a lovely pool bar where we got our breakfast each morning, and a great location. The use of pool towels and free umbrella/beds on the beach was a great bonus. The walk to their section of the beach (shared with their sister resort) is about half way along the beach so not at the nearest part of the beach but we didn’t mind the walk, and it was conveniently located right next to a beach bar/cafe. Green village resort rooms are clean, and fairly basic but have everything needed and exactly what we expected. Very handy for a stroll into Villasimius for dinner or a look round the lovely shops. I would not recommend the restaurant next door (not associated) it is always busy due to its location but it was absolutely awful. Pizzas soggy, carbonara was curdled and greasy, calamari overcooked and inedible, and the service was appalling. Plenty of lovely eateries further up.

    This is a huge territory with a lot of things to do without even leaving the property. Parking, 8 swimming pools, 6 beaches: stony and sandy. Area with animals: donkeys, horses, wild pigs, different birds and many more. It’s a place where people come with their kids and enjoy the services offered. They have animation and excursions for kids, it’s nice. Also Nice beans coffee station at the breakfast. WiFi only by the pool, reception or bars. This is positive I think, on vacation, we shouldn’t be hanging in our phones :) For us it was just me and my boyfriend. We rented a car, so reaching out to the hotel and then to eat in Tortolì (closest) city wasn’t hard. Also we did everything by walk within the hotel, everything is quite reachable. Also special thanks to Daniele and Simone, these guys were amazing with helping us with luggage, small rides within hotels. They are very kind and professional, we didn’t even have cash to give, the simply like what they do and very nice with guests.

    We had the most amazing week in Arbatax Resort - The Dune, it was the first stop on our honeymoon and we loved every second of it. The service we got is the best I've had out of all hotels/resorts I've ever been to, they booked everything what we wanted to do for us, boat tours, renting a boat for a day, spa, massage etc. Kayaks and paddle boards are free to use. Staff was super kind and helpful and we have mention Barbara in that sentence, she was definitely the person who made our stay extra awesome! Thank you so much!

    A lovely relaxed city with a historic centre some lovely bars near the marina and beaches and similarly lovely restaurants. It may be crazy but we were both impressed by the fact that all traffic stopped for us at zebra crossings (of which there were loads) unlike in many places in Italy where they don’t seem to know what such road markings are for.

    Easy to get to the beaches by bus - tickets from local Tabac need to be validated by machine as you enter the bus. Very hilly but location of apartment is half way so it’s easy to go up for the historical sights and down for the port, marina, bus and train stations.

    It's a beautiful place but it was very obvious that most of the locals were not super thrilled about the tourists and they took a lot of opportunities to overcharge and scam us, particularly at some restaurants. Please note that some people were very kind and welcoming but that wasn't common unfortunately. I wish I could say I loved San Teodoro but I had a much nicer time in Olbia.

    We went to Cala gonone to visit the famous beaches via boat from the port but the weather let us down unfortunately, not much else to do although it’s a beautiful place and we were only there for 2 days

    Great location for a number of beautiful beaches and a lively town with some very good restaurants but if you want to explore the area further a car is essential Sunbeds and umbrellas at the beach are quite expensive so it’s worth taking towels and chairs if you can

    We have stayed in other very nice resorts and hotels with robust amenities throughout Sardinia and this was easily our favorite one. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to assist us. In addition to the hotel, we loved touring around Capo Testa and spent a lot of time in Santa Teresa which is a very charming town near the hotel. Next time we will spend more time at the beaches since an injury prevented us from navigating the rocky beach.

    The best place in Sardinia.

    The best place in Sardinia. Cute Italian town with picturesque houses, great restaurants and the best gelato. We loved going from beach to beach, they all possess different qualities, but they are all lovely with the bluest water I’ve seen. You definitely need a car or a Vespa to get the best experience. Taking a boat trip for a day is also a must! Would strongly recommend spending a few days in La Maddalena!

    We highly recommend Palau for its great connections to La Maddalena – just a 20–25 minute ferry ride, with departures every 30 minutes. Once on La Maddalena, we rented a rubber boat (gommoni) to explore the rest of the paradise-like islands, so the location turned out to be a perfect choice.
