A beautiful boutique-hotel in the middle of the city. The room was spacious and bed was very big and comfy. All the facilities are in good conditions. We enjoyed our stay here. We asked for a couple of vases for our flowers and the staff found them in a second.

very close to the train station. If you have heavy luggage, you might want to book in a place close to the station. Don’t worry much about how far is it from the main attractions since Venice is relatively small city. A truly clean and classy hotel with nice staff … highly recommend!

Even in the so-called shoulder season Venice is mobbed with tourists. Our first hours in and near San Marco square were very off-putting. BUT moving beyond San Marco the crowds really thin out. And when the experts say just walk, get lost and discover the Venice of the locals--they know what they're talking about. We always dined in smaller restaurants on small squares or narrow passages; they were busy with locals and tourists but offered quiet and a more personal touch. We found the opulence of the Doge Palace so over the top as to be off-putting. And be forewarned: once you start the tour there's no going back: and it's a long tour.

Although I spent most of my time in Venice, I enjoyed the casual walkable surroundings. Good coffee shops and restaurants close by. The bus into Venice took 10 minutes and ran often. The train station was also close by. Staying in Mestre was certainly less hectic than staying in Venice so it was quite enjoyable.

Peschiera is a lively town at the edge of Lake Garda. It has lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It offers easy access to boat trips, walks and cycle-paths, as well as other lakeside towns. We went into John Martins , Mary's , Route 66 and theB. live music venue. drink and food prices reasonable. the beach is sunbeds cheek by jowl, but the hotel alocates sunbeds. very safe beach and warm meditteranian sea. use insect bite cream though due to the lagoon location.

It's not the cheapest town in the area, and not every place has the same high standards. Lots of Olympic construction going on, both in town and all around, so watch out for delays and possible noise. But you'll get over that once you smell the air and see the views.
