- From US$152.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 4,350 reviewsCheckin went very smoothly, I accidentally booked for only 1 person but it was all resolved! I had to pay an additional ~7K JPY for two nights + breakfast. It was also raining, and the hotel offered free umbrella rental which was great. The rooms were nice and tidy with GREAT views. There were free coffee and tea + snacks during the day, and there were also a lot of options for the breakfast buffet. That said, you really can't beat the location. It was within walking distance to everywhere you need to go within Hiroshima. If you are planning to go to Miyajima Island though, it is quite the trip to go to the JR ferry terminal (~1hr) so keep that in mind.Guest review byTamaraNetherlands
- From US$187.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 2,029 reviewsI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was one of the cheapest hotels I stayed in in Japan, but the room was very comfortable and the hotel gave free alcohol from 6.30-8.30pm, plus free breakfast. The listing only let's you choose smoking rooms, but at least 3 floors of the hotel are completely non-smoking, so be sure to ask. Great value hotel.Guest review bySimonAustralia

Room was good and the bathroom very spacious. The best feature of the hotel being the 3rd floor terrace where you can have a drink or just relax, there are even free drinks. We loved our time there and especially the coffee shop down stairs.Guest review byAlexandraGermany

So much better value than Tokyo or Osaka Great place to spend a day at Miyajima and return to. Very happy we spent two days here . Very easy to get around , great public transport and a very walkable city. Must try the Hiroshima pancakes - fun watching them Make them in front of you .Guest review bycolleenAustralia - 10.0

It isn’t a typical tourist destination from my understanding but the gardens by night are absolutely stunning. The casual is also beautiful and I’m sad to have missed the pottery class. Food and bars also exceptional - everybody is particularly friendly, and perhaps less used to accommodating tourists. Coffee: Empire coffee roasters. Friendly service and outstanding coffee. Food: Hidaya Yanigamachi. Grill your own delicious meat. Drink: ichigin. Super friendly and will involve you in conversations even if you don’t speak Japanese.Guest review byAlexUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Only spent one day at the end of our trip which was enough to basically shop and wander the historical area which I think is the main attraction anyway. Beautiful, scenic, clean, historic. And we loved Yoshii Ryokan in the heart of it all. Definitely worth a visit.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Onomichi is a picturesque and walkable city with lots of charm. You can stroll the vintage shotegai, visit the art museum, enjoy a snack at Onomichi U2, take a temple walk, ride the ropeway, and of course, biking the Shimanami Kaido. The people are friendly and the food and shopping are great.Guest review byLindsayUnited States - 10.0

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The tourist information Centre was great. Had good information and most. There is a loop bus to take you to the Castle and other points. The observation deck at the Bank was wonderful. The views spectacular of Matsue. Looked a tidy place, well looked after and comfortable to visit.Guest review byRogerNew Zealand - 10.0

It’s a little off the main tourist route, which is why it’s worth a visit. In November the weather was great. It was easy to visit the castle and grounds and a bus trip to Tomonoura was great way to spend the day. A little fishing port famous for being in films and again not too busy. In Fukuyama a visit to the Clock and auto museum is like entering an Aladdin’s cave of wonders. It’s full of the past and not just cars and clocks. Lots of small owner run restaurants as well.Guest review byCostelloeCanada - 10.0

A very quiet city in the remote Sanin region, from exploring the lores of the region to the food throughout the city, it was a great trip. The only note is that the shops here close earlier so you do have to set off earlier compared to usual. Other spots nearby that could be explored were Matsue and Yonago.Guest review byKendricSingapore - 8.0

Hiroshima was a lovely city of history and culture and an opportunity as a base to do additional day trips to other cities to experience more of the Japanese culture. We experienced very humid conditions in September so would look at the cherry blossom time when returningGuest review bysandraAustralia
