In the same common hall there's complimentary towels, traditional pajamas and bath stuff to use in your room. We thought our trip, which lasted 2 days was just about right, maybe one more day would have been good. We visited the bomb site and museum on the first day which is a must. The second day we had a trip to Miyajima island which was really worth the effort. We went over on a ferry using our Suica card which also paid for the train. The owner/ front desk was super nice and friendly. He went above and beyond. Gave me the best room with lower price because I was solo and room is for 2. Yet the room and all areas in hotel were very clean and smelled good. It’s also across from train station and easy to commute everywhere. Because I got in late from doing the big bike ride over from Imabari, I was left with little time or energy to explore Onomichi. However, I did do some of the temple tour in the morning and it was excellent. I recommend taking the "ropeway" (I'd call it a cable car) to the hilltop and work your way down.
