Tokashiki is a piece of paradise on earth and staying at Kanaloa was the best decision I made when booking this escapade. Initially planning to stay for 3 nights, I extended for 2 more and had to stop there because I had to go home, otherwise I could have easily spent another week at this place. The staff whole staff was absolutely amazing. Always available, super caring and exceptionally professional. The owner fell in love with the island when he came to visit it during a school trip during his youth. He worked hard to buy and renovate a building in Tokashiki and make it this amazing place to stay in. He is truly passionate and impressively wears many hats throughout the day, and I fully admire his commitment to his dream. Location: Literally 2min walk away from the ferry port, so no need for transfers. 3min walk away from the only supermarket on the island. Multiple transfers are arranged everyday to take you to and from the two main beaches of the island (prefer Tokashiku for a more quiet experience). Room: Clean and fully equipped with everything you might need for your stay. It could be tight for 2 people but it is the usual size you'd expect for a Japanese hotel. Traveling alone, I had plenty of room for myself. Restaurant: You'll notice that there aren't many places to go to for dinner around the island, but you won't need that. The hotel's restaurant is grand. The menu is varied, the ingredients super fresh and the food is amazing. I honestly wasn't that hungry during my stay but I would always get more food than needed because everything was so delicious! Also, DO get the breakfast option as you won't have many outside of the hotel, and the care that you will be receiving here is unmatched. The Japanese one is exquisite, with a fresh piece of fish every morning, as well as an assortment of local delicacies. I will 100% be back. After a month of traveling around the country, this was by far my favorite place to be in.

Loved our stay at Kerama Blue! Lovely spacious and air conditioned room. Staff are very helpful and responsive. Helped us arrange transportation and snorkeling trip. Breakfast is huge and delicious! There is a hotel shuttle bus that you can get to and from the main area by the ferry port. You can walk the distance in about 35min. Nice food options in the hotel and the main port area, and a couple of stores with the basics. (If you need an ATM, there is one at the post-office)

The hosts are very friendly and service minded. They picked us up at the ferry. The food is delicious - some of the best food we ever had. The chef made us local Okinawan food, Japanese, Chinese and Italian dishes. All cooked to perfection. This place is definately great value for money. You can also buy wine, beer, Coca Cola, and varity of drinks.

I haven't written a long review before but this one will be, because my heart is full. Tokashiku Marine Village is set on the most wondrous location, directly on Tokashiku Beach. White sand, clear water and a delightful kerama blue ocean with the most spectacular sunset view. Take a dip and swim with tropical fish and magical turtles. Then, take your trash with you, and keep the home of your new friends alive and healthy. The staff at Marine Village were absolutely lovely. Attentive, service-minded, joyful and kind. The hotel offer free shuttle bus to the port, and to Aharen Beach by request. They rent out equipment for various water activities. There is a small shop in the lobby with necessities: beverages, instant noodles, snacks, beach wear and souvenirs. I had breakfast and dinner daily. It is buffet style and the dishes vary from day to day. It was simple and great. (Hope they will consider offering more vegetarian options some day.) I stayed for five nights in the japanese style room with sea view. The hotel would benefit from renovation but I couldn't care less. You're on Tokashiki aka heaven. Grateful. I had the most sensational time. Thank you so much!

I was there for five days (planned for seven days to include five days of diving), and my stay was cut short by the threat of a typhoon. Tokashiki is quiet - you have to make your own activities, which are water-based. We found a couple of exceptional restaurants and a food truck with great vibes. Lots of friendly locals.

Beautiful small island with lots of breathtaking places and spots for snorkeling. The further you move from the Zamami village the more quiet is gets. We went to the more remoted beaches to walk around and were the only people there for couple of hours. Most of the places are easily accessible by bike that can be rented either at hotel or in the main village. There are few restaurant, but always book a table. Often they don't accept guests without reservation, likely due to portion limitations.

Akemi was such a wonderful host.. she picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off on our return back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Her place was comfortable and had everything we needed. She even has a restaurant close by and another food spot by Ama beach where we were able to get food and snacks. She served delicious, authentic food at her restaurant and I think she was also the chef! Will definitely stay here again!

Zamami is quiet and very natural. We stayed near the port and there are two nice beaches within walking distance. The town is very quiet ad peaceful. we rented scooters and drove around the island - a great way to see spectacular views. I recommend 3 nights. Be sure to book restaurants for dinner as its a small town and the restaurants fill up quickly. We really enjoyed eating at the hotel but would have liked to have tried a few other places too. The Mexican truck was a great place for lunch (no reservations needed).

Tokashiki is the largest of the Kerama Islands.

Tokashiki is the largest of the Kerama Islands. There are some great spots for swimming, snorkeling, and diving from the shore, but a boat trip will be required for some of the other spots, particularly the northern portion of the island. The roads are narrow, but it's worth touring around the island on some of the back roads for the various views and wildlife.

The local authorities definitely need to figure out these two obvious issues including the overprice to tourists and the depression of local residents. Local people are super reluctant to do businesses like always closed restaurants and rude shop owner in furuzamami beach.
