- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,218 reviewsIt was our second time staying here and we were pleased to be here the same as the first time. Definitely a good decision to have an overnight at Miyajima and support local family business. Everything felt very "home-like". Although the building is not new and onsen that they have is far from real onsen at other ryokan type hotels, to even have this option is very nice. Breakfast is very simple, but it is definitely enough. They even provide beer and ice cream for extra payment on the spot, you don't need to go all the way to Family mart. Location is very convenient for one night-stayers. They even prepare a curry for dinner. I cannot express the level of kindness of the owner and the cozy feeling during our stay. This is a true Japanese experience. Hopefully, the owner will accept our group next year as well :)Guest review byKamileLithuania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,631 reviewsStayed for a honeymoon. Staff went ABOVE and BEYOND; personally handwritten note during dinner, honeymoon gift, amazing service throughout at check-in, kaiseki dinner, japanese breakfast (superior even compared to other part of japan), calling a free shuttle for us to the ferry port. First time at miyajiama and i will be back.Guest review byAndyYUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 639 reviewsWe had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We opted for the Japanese meals and cannot recommend it enough, the food was fabulous, we really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The Guest House is located close to the ferry terminal which made coming and going easy. Our host was absolutely wonderful.Guest review byHeidiNew Zealand

- From US$787.25 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,956 reviewsThe staff was really friendly. The breakfast was really standard but good. It’s a 5 minute walk from the ferry station. It has a bathtub, a sofa and the bed is really comfortable (but the pillows were a bit hard).Guest review byAMexico
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 923 reviewsThe best way to experience Japan. We highly recommend the place. Miyajima at night is much better without thousands of turists and the dinner served by the hotel it is a masterpiece of colors and tastes.Guest review byKarolinaPoland

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.Guest review byMarciaUnited States - 10.0

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It was my second trip to Miyajima island.
It was my second trip to Miyajima island. The first time I only travelled their with my wife and we did not stay in any accommodation. I left back on the ferry same day feeling that I had to eventually return. I was able to do that and I loved every moment. It's an island I would consider going back too again and staying over again. The island offers so much. For those that want heritage and history, tick. For those that want a close encounter with a deers, tick. For those who love calm beaches or mountains, tick. For those that want experiences with friendly locals, tick. Those wanting to do shopping, especially souveniours, tick. For those who want physical activity, the walking trails up the mountain are a definite tick. I could go on, but, for so many reasons I love and would highly recommend travel to Miyajima.Guest review byAdamAustralia
