Very beautiful even when there is not much snow left. It must be great in January and February when it snows heavily. A private stay in the middle of the forest and mountain. Very beutiful view!!! 1. Service - Exceptional service with attention to detail. The staff are very polite. They also drove us down to the nearby eateries outside the hotel. What exceeds expectations is that they call me at 6pm to check what I am having for dinner and great service at the point part of the stay. 2. Facilities - Love the view, the Forest trail and the fireside Marshmellow bbq in the evening. 3. Food - Great food. Tried the Pasta of the day and Shinshu Beef. We usually have Kobe beef and the texture and the taste of the Shinshu Beef is excellent. Bread was excellent as well. Sangria is my favorite 4. Room - very clean. Hot tub is large with water from Ueno. Amenities like coffee, tea, juices are sufficient and good quality. 5. Location - great view and fresh air. Note that the hotel is far from Karuizawa. We book this hotel with that in mind, so we had spend 3 days in Karuizawa before arriving. Mainly stayed in the hotel area for our stay. Overall love this hotel. Exceeded expectations

Stayed here for 6 nights for a ski holiday and we had to change room half way through as I booked late and they were fully booked. Lovely staff they moved our stuff to the new room which meant we could go out for the day to enjoy skiing. Location isn't in the centre of town which wasn't a problem. There is a shuttle bus to the ski resorts, if you don't have a car. We did have a car which made it really easy. Onsen was lovely after a full day's of skiing. There was a ski rental shop opposite the hotel which was convent. We had breakfast and dinner included one of the waitresses called June was super friendly and very welcoming. Was a joy to see her everyday.

It’s clean, very well equipped with heater, cooking utensils. The owners are so nice and friendly. Language may be a barrier but they tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. The place is slightly secluded which is perfect for quiet vacation but you can still go to town centre by just taking 1 train to Karuizawa station and the owners are nice enough to drop and pick you!

Cozy and cool hotel with a green vibe. It's simplistic without a lot of extras and excess which we appreciate in the world of hotels. We enjoyed our stay very much, especially the staff and service was great. We forgot something in our room and the staff was very helpful and sent our package to our next hotel. Great service!

Absolutely loved Nagano, so friendly and clean and easy to get around. We lucked out and arrived when the the dance festival was on which was really fun. There are lovely restaurants, good shopping and it’s easy to get around. The old part of the town and the temple are beautiful. We took the bus to see the snow monkeys as well which was worth every penny, even though it was 30 degrees they were still in the onsen, it was magical!

Karuizawa is a little gem "off the beaten track" for mist travelers to Japan. A tourist loop bus makes it easy to explore. There are coffee shops, restaurants, shops, & onsens. Excellent hiking too! And for those who like to shop, there's a huge outlet mall right next to the train station.

If you are considering buying something from bookoff in...

If you are considering buying something from bookoff in another city, make sure you visit the one in the Alpico plaza first. They are cheaper than the ones in Osaka. There’s a yakiniku place that’s really good but I can’t remember the name but it’s not far away from the matsumo station. For anyone wanting to visit kamikochi in this rainy season, I suggest you get a hotel here and just book a bus ticket for kamikochi the night before visiting so you’ll know for sure what kind of weather you’ll be dealing with. Also, if you haven’t visited Narai-juku, check it out and complete the trail, you’ll be more than amazed.

The location was great with great scenery. Ten minutes walk through snow trails to Happoone ski lift. Ten minutes walk to village for rentals & restaurants (Ooyokuri restaurant*****)! The staff was excellent and accommodating of late evening arrival. Inside & outside onsens were very good. Breakfast was great with selection & taste. Twelve (7adults, 1teen, 5children) give it a big thumbs up! It was end of season, so shops and restaurants were closed, snow was a bit slushy for me, good for kids. Plus side few people, no congestion or lines.
