- From $94.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 468 reviewsVery convenient location right by the main Niigata station and Shinkansen and buses to access the rest of the Niigata city. The breakfast was excellent and had many fresh local speciality’s and both traditional Japanese dishes and western foods. The station is also right near a hopping izakaya district with cheap drinks and great snacks, and the close proximity to the hotel means that it’s 3 min walk. We were worried that the trains and downtown area would be loud but the hotel was well insulated from outside sounds, and we only occasioally hear our neighbours through the walls but overall very quite and we had a great sleep.Guest review byChihiroCanada

The baths are even better in actual than in the pictures. Best during winter/spring with snow capped surrounding as background. Food: Kaiseki meal was very good with different selections of seasonal produce. Breakfast also have a lot of choices, both japanese and western Room: Very comfortable and quiet allowing good rest Facility: Very clean, well maintained Staff: Very kind and accommodatingGuest review byLykaPhilippines

The slope is a good challenge for newbies and the lift ticket is cheap and not crowded at all. I can get to snowboarding right in the back of the hotel. I would recommend it for families with elderly and kids. The dinner is included and it is very good and delicious.Guest review byNATTAKARNThailand

Niigata is a refreshing small city, and the river has beautiful views of both sides. Each side of the river has green pedestrian and bicycle rider paths. There is easy access to the Performing Arts Center with its living rooftop garden on it's oval shaped building. Hakusan Park is not to be missed - an oasis away from the hubbub of office and city life! Complete with a lotus pond, bridges, a large temple, Tori gates, and a pond with a wisteria-covered bridge. Very scenic. There are the shops on Furumachidori - a covered avenue with adorable shops, bronze figures of baseball players, and the Japan Animation and Manga College is on this avenue. Along this dori you might see a box of turtles sunning on the sidewalk!Guest review byJeannieUnited States - 10

we had a local guide who helped us booked some activities like Shoji door making, which we learned about shoji paper and how the paper on the doors are replaced. Kara no Toy Box by Package craft artist Kazuma Takahashi, is a very interesting experience! My kids enjoyed the workshop and they managed to make a deer out of used chocolate cardboard packaging, its very creative and good activity for rainy day, which is what we encountered.Guest review byAnonymousSingapore - 10

Surprisingly, although it is a small town, there are plenty of good restaurants and lots of outdoor activities. We could have spent a day just walking at Yuzawa Kogen region. Lovely onsen feel to the whole place. And if you miss the city, Niigata is just 40min by train (Tokyo station is just about 1.5 hours by shinkansen). There are several good restaurants and izakayas along the main street, and even at Echigo Yuzawa station, including an exquisite Italian Muran Gozzo cafe with house-made smoked salmon, pork terrine, wagyu carpaccio, seasonal wild vegetable pickles etc. The train station also has a foot bath, local produce market and supermarket. Of course the highland air is fresh and cool.Guest review byCelestialSingapore - 10

Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The locals are exceptionally helpful and friendly.Guest review byBec DoyleAustralia - 8.0

I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!Guest review byMastershifuChina - 8.0

It is a snow-season oriented location and in May there are not many people around. For us Yuzawa was the choice because of the car rental being available in the region were we wanted to explore. Nippon rent-a-car offers good deals.Guest review byTiinaEstonia - 10
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10

Niigata is a lovely place with warm people but be prepared to travel by bus. To be more flexible make sure that you arrange a rental bike as this city doesn't have the subway lines you may be used to from Osaka or Tokyo.Guest review byEmanuelNetherlands - 8.0
Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen.
Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen. It's very easy to get to by public transport and quite affordable. It can, however, get quite crowded on weekend and holidays during peak season so we were glad to have gone a little further to Naeba. During peak times, however, it could be challenging to find a place to eat so you might need to book restaurants in advance to avoid disappointment!Guest review byTea45United Kingdom
