The property and grounds were picturesque. The grounds were very well kept. The details of everything is something to see. The fresh fruit and food was delicious. There were many good vegan, vegetarian options to choose from, which was helpful because I am a vegan. My husband enjoyed the meat options. The various amounts of drink options were also appreciated. Our visit to beautiful Mombasa, Kenya was an experience and our stay at Serena Beach Resort & Spa was an experience just in itself. I don't even think we had walked the entire compound as there were several areas for restaurants, activities, wine/cocktail bar/poolside bar seating and other multi-purpose seating areas. The steps that led us to the beautiful bech held even more opportunities to enjoy water activities, ride a catamaran boat out to feed and swim with the fish (look for Ali because he was wonderful), take photos with the camels, get your name carved in wood, and shop at the local pop up on the beach- so bring some Kenyan shilling. We got lucky and played football with the local young kids on the beach! It rained more than usual so we weren't able to hop on the jet skis this time. We truly loved every minute of my stay and have aspirations to return again someday. I am highly recommending Serena Beach Resort & Spa to anyone who is going to stay in Mombasa, Kenya. Located approximately 45 min from the Airport in Bamburi Beach. Everything was perfect, I would like to live in this resort hahah. The buffet for breakfast and diner is great and changes daily. The staff is super helpful and nice. The resort is extra clean, the gardens are perfectly entertained. There are daily activities and an evening concert. We were looking for a family holiday by the sea and can...
We were looking for a family holiday by the sea and can thoroughly recommend Mombasa. The apartment was on Lido beach which suited us perfectly and found a local taxi driver to take us to attractions such as Haller Park and Wild Water (water slides). The city is busy and there's significant work being done to the roads. So expect the occasional jam and some very bumby roads. In July the temp was just under 30 degrees C and there was a refeshing breeze from the south to temperate this. That also seemed to keep the mosquitoes at bay. We were pleasantly surprised to find some very good restaurants (e.g. CJ's near Wild Water - good food and good service). We didn't sample the night life nor take a safari to Amboseli - something for next time!Guest review byRobert - 10.0

I liked that Lamu is a small town, easy to walk about and no pollution say for donkey dung. There are many eateries with all kinds of meals, loved the seafood restaurants near the jetty. Lamu is safe for travellers and the community is very welcoming. Easy to get around either by speed boat, dhow or slow engine boats if not in a rush. The weather is warm and windy especially in the evening. People prefer to walk about and sit around the seafront at night where there is good ocean breeze before retiring for bed. It is not a place for a holiday, I was there to check on some of my Property but I was frustrated because I ended up staying for more Days than I had wanted. If you like to walk...it needs only 10 minutes to go in town. Driving to the lodge didn’t encounter many animals due to bush and lava rock. But at Serena we saw hundreds of animals including many small babies come to the large waterhole right in front of us.
