The location is great, just a few minute walk to the temple, market, and train station, and it has a nice view of the lake/temple area. The room itself was very nice... spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and we ate dinner here one night, and that was a great meal as well. But the best part was the staff, especially Nalin, who really helped us with some communication barriers on the next step of our trip. Truly a great property!

The place was fantastic, it was amazing to wake up with the view from the window: forest, river, mountains and sounds of nature only! We took “making and tasting tea tour”, it was incredible experience to collect the tea and see in my own eye what I saw in National geographic. The view was breathtaking at sunset, nighttime, sunrise, and during the day. The staff were attentive. The food was excellent (both breakfast and dinner). The bed was very comfortable. The room is something special and the pool area, wow! Great view. The staff are great very kind! Best view and best restaurant in sri lanka (we are at the end of our vacation after 20 days). I really recommend the garlic rice and Chilli chicken 😅 we enjoyed the hotel facilities and next morning had a ride to ambuluwawa tower (30 minutes).

Everything and everyone at Amaya Hills was amazing. From the second I arrived at the reception till the day I was checking out. The property is a wonderful vintage style hotel. Clean rooms with wonderful views of the greens. Our rooms were take care of by Sarangeetha who’s a very kind person. The service you are provided at the hotel is exceptional managed by Aravinda and Thushara, you can ask them anything and they will make it happen. At the restaurant, the chef Lasantha is an amazing gentleman, tell him about your delights and he’ll cook them for you. Our waiter Rukmal is generously funny person. Special thanks to Mr. Hilmy, the front office manager who is taking care of all the details to make the customers satisfied. Will definitely return and highly recommended.

We spent our honeymoon from 28th to 31st January at Citadel and it was one of the best experiences of our lives. We were given a great room facing mahaweli river. Waking up to that view is something we can't put into words. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The Buffet had a lot of food varieties and they were all delicious. And the dining area had a beautiful view to give the best dining experience. The staff always checked up on us to make sure that everything was ok. We even went on a boat ride along the mahaweli river and it was something that we will always cherish.

We are warmly welcomed by the hotel since the first step we get off the car, me and my family are all very happy with the very much friendly staff, the buffet in the restaurant is also nice with live music, bring the holiday to a happy atmosphere. People advised us to have 2 days in Kandy - we would have been fine with just one. The weather did not help us it rained on and off the entire time we were there. Temple of the Sacred Tooth - tick - walk around the Botanical gardens - tick - Shopping DISMAL - Kandyan dance performance extremely touristy. I wish we had allocated an extra day for the hill country instead of Kandy, Best meal we had was at the Hideaway Lounge. Central market - awful fresh food and spices but seriously hideous tourist souvenirs. Old building needs renovation.

We lived here as children.

We lived here as children. Our father taught at Zahira College. We had contacted them and they received is kindly and showed us around. We found the house where we lived and the lady there was very friendly. Our father's friend's son and daughter gave us lunch at their resort. All that was great.

We had a fantastic stay at Symphony Homes during our visit to Kandy. The villa looks exactly like the photos — modern, very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The peaceful location was perfect, yet only a short drive to Kandy city and major attractions. The private garden was lovely to relax in, and the fully equipped kitchen made our stay even more comfortable. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, always quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful private villa in Kandy!

Probably the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Only minus could be a lack of internet connection in the cotttage, but, really, who cares for wi fi in such scenery, and it is available in public area.

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must...

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must see sights - the Temple of The tooth, a walk around the lake, the Big Buddha. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens are just on the edge of the city. The market is bustling. If you are there in late July/early August you may catch the Perahera Festival - a parade of dressed elephants, fire whirlers, Kandy Dancers, Drummers and whip crackers.

It was a visit to Ride Viharaya, and All Viharaya Rock temples in Central Sri Lanka. We did not stay long to visit All Lena (there Place where Thiptaka was originally written on Ola leaves) and Nalanda Gedige (Geographical centre of Sri Lanka)

The city centre is very polluted but there is a lot to see...

The city centre is very polluted but there is a lot to see and it is worth exploring. I highly recommend taking a tuk tuk tour to visit the sights. We had an adventurous day out with Explore Kandy with Sajith Tuk Tuk Tours.
