- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 772 reviewsThe Ravenala exceeded all our expectations. I have been to many all inclusive resorts, but The Ravenala is something else. Upon arrival we were welcomed in the best way possible, we got a free upgrade to the adult only wing without even asking for it. These rooms are situated in between the beach and the pool. The perfect location at the resort. We were schocked to find out, that when we wanted to make reservations for all the different restaurants at the resort that they were all fully booked. One of the main reasons to book this resort were the many a la carte restaurants. Once we went upstairs to the reception desk we were greeted by Manish. He told us that it was possible to make a reservation for the restaurants before you even arrive. So I could have made a reservation 1 year in advance. This is something that I had never experienced before in any all in resort. He got us in touch with Saveeta. Saveeta went out of her way to make sure we got the best experience and booked us at every restaurant. Even the Lime which was on a supplement, now free of charge. We went to Manish for a second time to get a late checkout. The normal checkout time is 12:00. We got to keep our room till 19:00 and could still make use of all food and drink options we had before at no extra cost. I could keep writing about The Ravenala and about the amazing staff and everything it has to offer, but you will have to experience that for yourself to know what I am talking about. Manish from the reception desk deserves the biggest raise there is possible, this guy will go out of his way for you and tries to get you everything there is possible. In short: The Ravenala exceeded it all and has insane service. Thanks for giving us such an amazing experience here!Guest review byHenkNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 821 reviewsWe had a fantastic vacation and liked everything about this place - big and spacious, lovely park around the hotel, clean and comfy rooms, amazing sea view, delicious food, great evening entertainment, free of charge sea sports, lovely beach with white sand, lovely pool and enough space for everyone on the beach. The hotel is really close to the town and there are many small shops and supermarket in walking distance. The public beach is really close as well, but it's nothing to compare with the beach in front of the hotel. We enjoyed very much the option that we can visit also the other hotels from the Beachcomber chain, so we've spent a day on the beach also at Cannonier and Viktoria. The hotel staff is really polite, supportive and helpful. @Krishna/team - thank you for your warm welcome and kind support during our stay!!! I definitely recommend this place for your Mauritius vacation! :)Guest review byElenaBulgaria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.3Good - What previous guests thought, 110 reviewsSmall and cosy hotel exactly what we needed before leaving paradise island. The staffs are absolutely fantastic... always ready to assist and advise. It has a Greece kind of look / vibe. Very much like staying in a cave which was a new experience for us. Entertainment during the day, evening and morning too...it's a pity we were there for a night only. Beds are very comfortable. After we checked out we were still able to use the pool which was a plus. We should have probably booked all inclusive as the food looked delicious.Guest review byChandaneeIreland

Location is great, near the beach. But, above all mentioned, very nice people, the staff, and very good host, our mr. Amal. We will never forget you. Thank you for everything that you did to make our vacation so special. Recommendation for this cozy place.Guest review byMarko NincicSerbia

Mauritius is called by its locals as paradise island i mean everyone says amazing things about the country they originate from however the people of mauritius truly mean it when they say it, its a beautiful colourful, green and tropical country with endless miles of beaches always a stone throw away. where ever you go you see beautiful coconut trees, palm trees and mango trees and some stunning birds, colourful dragon flies and bats the nature alone is so breathtaking. the food, the locals, the price point of excursions, the weather and the beaches were literally out of this world. its a country that i would genuinely consider going again and again infact i actually cant wait to step back into mauritous and forget my blues, if your a avid diver or snorkler then mauritius is a must, we did so much in the space of 9 days from paragliding, snorking with turtles, undersea water walking, diving, water sking, off road riding using ATVs/quad bikes, watched horse racing, zip lining, shopping in there vibrant colourful markets, visiting historical sites that were rich with history and different cultures, eating out local street food and world class cuisines for very little money. super affordable and what a beautiful hidden gem of a country. family and myself were completely blown away by it to the point we are rethinking ever going back to places like dubai over beautiful tropical natural countries like mauritius. we also had a friendly parrot that would visit us daily and gladly sit amongst us without being scared or shy and share some food with us.Guest review byImranUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming.
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming. Splendid for scuba divers or paddle boarders. Practically zero night life. Careful: too many dangerous dogs roaming around everywhere in Mauritius (not just on this beach) make nightly walks ghastly and horrifying - I got attacked multiple times! I had to fight for my safety and health and fend the feral beasts off! That’s a harrowing experience you don’t want on your holiday. The government should tackle this serious problem ASAP!Guest review byJuraj GerbelSlovakia - 10.0
We both enjoyed the stay.
We both enjoyed the stay. The staff was polite, respectful. they couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Deepak Goolaria and his kitchen team prepared an eggless cake for me to celebrate my birthday. Sandeep and Vikram, Sucheeta and Jason were always working and talking to us how was our stay going.Guest review byRajVinder Singh - 8.0

The beach of Mon Choisy is a long sunny sandy beach nice for swimming. During October to March it is hot there but the sea is great for swimming. However during these months some cyclones may also visit the Island ! Other months are also sunny and the climate are cooler around 24c during the day. In weekdays the beach is calm and it is not crowded. However during Sundays and public holidays locals are there and it is very crowded but as it is a long beach there is still some space for everyone. On Sundays expect loud music from loudspeakers by some picknickers though there is law about it but it is rarely respected. There are also many stray dogs on the beach but they are not aggresive.Guest review byHooben TOUSSAINTMauritius - 10.0

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.Guest review byCzech girlCzech Republic - 10.0

There are 3-4 notable restaurants, up to 5 street food options. winner's has everything you need. The beach is very good, if it was crystal clear that would be dreamy. Sunday evening (confirmed from a local, it's happening every week) a bit loud, a bit different than others. Difficult to eat outside because of the high volume.Guest review byMutluTurkey - 8.0

An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie. Perfect for couples. There is a large public beach a few minutes walk away which has all the local facilities. Beach shacks selling local food and fresh fruit juices. The local people were all very friendly and the taxi rank nearby was ideal for planning trips.Guest review byVeraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Roches Noires is a nice place.
Roches Noires is a nice place. Keep in mind that in our summer (july / august) it is winter over there and the east coast will have a constant breeze (up to 4 BFT). Having a rental car we found that almost all of the days we would drive to the west or south coast as there is no wind on that side during their winter.Guest review byMarkNetherlands
