- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,560 reviewsI got married at Lux Le Morne. Will be a memory that I will never forget. The resort is on the middle of nature the Le Morne in the back makes you feel like you are in a movie. Also has many details that make a mix of traditional and modern style. The lagune water is crystal, and also resort is divided in two parts which each has a pool with Le Morne view. I do not remember the names of all the staff but thankful to all for the service to make my stay unforgatteble. I had a delay of the luggeges and when I come was stressed now I regret that I did not enjoy at the fullest. ( I was in Mauritius, why should be stressed for some clothes) The reception help me by communicating also with the airport to fasten the procedure. Mannie and the other girl from celebration corner was a huge support for my weeding as I was only with my fiance. The spa service , beach service, room service, all the waiters and staff from each of the restorants and bar was very polite and helpful. A vacation that will always has my heart with it.Guest review byDajanaAlbania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 767 reviewsWe spent our honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Mauritius. To put it all into one sentence: we could not have made a better choice and are soo happy and thankful for the amazing experience we had there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great variety and perfect quality of the food, the fantastic location at the beautiful paradise-like beach, the furnishing and amenities of the room, the beautiful sea view… What we were especially pleased with is that we did not book the special honeymoon package on the hotel’s website. We only told the reception about our special occasion a few weeks prior to our arrival via the chat. Nevertheless we received all the wonderful special gifts that come with the honeymoon package. Thank you very much!! we could have stayed forever and will definitely come back in the future.Guest review byMalteGermany
- From US$258.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 308 reviewsThe staff was simply amazing. We had previously booked at a different place nearby and we was extremely disappointed. Our taxi driver told us about Aanari and they were kind enough to accommodate us at the very last moment and made us feel so comfortable. A great guy, Nathan who is an employee at Aanari Hotel was kind enough to navigate us through the country! Bonus points just because Flic en Flac Beach is just opposite the road with many food outlets and ATM's plus the bar at night is such a vibe.Guest review byPillaySouth Africa

Also, the facilities such as the gym, bikes to rent, spa, beach, tennis court were all perfect and not crowded. We also enjoyed the breakfasts as there was an amazing selection as well as Mauritian options which introduced us to local culture.Guest review byIaroslavaNetherlands

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 404 reviewsAmazing breakfast and food. But the setting is the best of all. So green and lusious and such wonderful views from some villas. The walk to Pinot Cannot is amazing, takes 1 hour and the views from there are even better (with good hiking shoes). the walk starts right at the property.Guest review byEvaSwitzerland

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 10.0

lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony ForestGuest review byCelia ColemanSouth Africa - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
