- From US$236.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 323 reviewsWe chose Aloegrove to relax for a couple of nights after our 1,800 mile tour of Namibia. The communication with the hosts Johan and Ivy was fabulous during the booking process. The lodge is a good 20 mins along a track, well signposted, and by this point we were used to Namibian roads, so the uneven bits were no surprise. We were greeted by staff and showed our fabulous accommodation, spacious and the attention to detail was brilliant, bubble bath for the bath with a spectacular view, beautiful quality bed linen, ground coffee etc etc etc... Everything is there that you could need! We self catered for the first night with the indoor braai, we ate at the lodge the second night, the chef made a beautiful meal and fantastic breakfast with scrambled ostrich egg. Afternoon coffee and cake is also a real treat. we joined Johan and Ivy's tour of their farm and feeding their rescued big cats. So informative about the all the animals. I highly recommend the tour, it was great fun and we learnt lots. Johan, Ivy and their lovely staff cannot do enough for the guests. On our last morning we sat down with a map with them and planned our net trip to Namibia, they shared their knowledge of the best routes and places to travel to, of course we will start and finish with a stay at Aloegrove! We stayed is some lovely places on our journey but nothing matched the luxurious experience at Aloegrove.Guest review byGillyUnited Kingdom
- From US$390.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsWe spent only 1 night there on our way back from Etosha. If I had to do it again, I would spend 1 or 2 more nights to enjoy the private reserve a little more. In addition to the wildlife, the views are really nice, red sand, mountains, Waterberg in the distance... Nice breakfast and restaurant in the evening. Staff was really firendly and helpful, as almost everywhere in Namibia, thank you ! The morning game is a must do !Guest review byPascalFrance
- From US$74.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 482 reviewsThis is a very well run hotel in between the Etosha and Hosea Kuato Airport so ideal for breaking up a 6-7 hour journey. Unlike some hotels booked online, this hotel delivered in every way. Superb clean quiet rooms, easy parking, safe location with friendly attentive staff that excelled. Lovely pool ... lovely evening meal at great prices for UK visitors. 20 ounce steak for £12 .... really! Cant praise this hotel high enough.Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 433 reviewsWe slept at the bush camp as an upgrade, which we were very thankful for! It was amazing! Very luxurious, great food and staff. The excursion ‘leopard tracking’ was AMAZING! We found one and could observe her for a while. We also saw a brown hyena and many more animals. The sundowner was fantastic! Thank you, John!Guest review byThomasBelgium
- From US$80.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,810 reviewsPerfect, supremely comfortable stopover on our way to Etosha. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food great and the beds unbelievably comfortable - even braved the lovely if chilly (June) pool. Our room looked onto a peaceful inner courtyard with a tranquil pool feature. Highly recommend 👌 We will be back.Guest review byAndreaSouth Africa
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsA beautifully arranged guesthouse, especially the garden is wonderful. A perfect place for a relaxing stopover or a longer stay. The breakfast was also one of the best we had in Namibia. Dinner at Out of Africa just across the street was also delicious!Guest review byNinaAustria

Otjiwarongo Railway Station with a locomotive worked between 1912-1960 is a real attraction. We visited the Cultural Center where 14+ children have the opportunity of dancing, playing on instruments, painting, drawing and so on after the school. Also we visited the Multi-Purpose Help Centre, where Monica Tjehiua presented the goals of the MPHC, which -for instance- feed the poor children, and organize lots of programs for the disabled persons, supporting old people. From Otjiwarongo it's quite easy to reach the Cheetah Foundation (40-45 km) and the Waterberg Plateau Game Reserve (80 km) as well.Guest review byEndreHungary - 10.0
This is a perfect halfway house from Etosha to Windhoek.
This is a perfect halfway house from Etosha to Windhoek. We left Etosha to travel south, visiting the Cheetah Conservation Foundation at Otjiwarongo and then enjoying a relaxed dinner and evening at Out of Town Africa Lodge. Our stay was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was relaxed, we were not the early birds, but we were not rushed away by the staff. I highly recommend this little gem of a town and place to stay.Guest review byRachaelSouth Africa
