The Heerlyckheid is a beautiful boutique hotel in Bredevoort, near Winterswijk. The facilies and the ambience is amazing. As guest you can enjoy diner at the restaurant, however, we had other plans so no experience. De hotel is situated on the main square of the city, and on the square there is also a local brewery, De Borgman, with a large terrace whereas you can enjoy local beers with friends and family. We really enjoyed our stay, and the breakfast was good quality, fresh and a lot of options.

We took a brief stop on our road trip in this small town. The room is not just a room. We were really surprised that the whole defense tower is our room! The interior is modern and comfortable with the castle view. As this is a defense tower, there are many windows around the room. So you can enjoy 360°c view from the room. Fantastic. Breakfast would be delivered in the morning and we had breakfast inside the room.

    I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel and can only describe the entire experience as outstanding. The hotel is located in a peaceful, romantic little village – a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The rooms were extremely comfortable, spotless, and fully equipped – there was truly nothing missing. Everything was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The price-performance ratio is excellent – great quality for a very fair price! One of the absolute highlights was the on-site restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious – every dish was prepared with care and bursting with flavor. We were consistently impressed by the quality and freshness of the ingredients. On top of that, the staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the first moment. Another big plus: there’s a free parking lot directly at the hotel, which made everything even more convenient. All in all, this place is a true hidden gem. We left feeling refreshed and well taken care of – and we will definitely be back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great food, and a charming, tranquil location.

    I had read some reviews mentioning that the hotel was dirty, noisy, and had poor internet, so I was a bit worried before arriving. However, our experience was completely different! Very friendly and helpful staff. A clean and comfortable room with surprisingly cozy pillows (even though they looked quite thin). Fast and stable internet connection. Although our window faced the restaurant, it was perfectly quiet after 10 p.m., and we could sleep with the window open. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of options and really good coffee. Beautiful surroundings, perfect for walking with our dog. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future visits.

    The grounds are stunning, and so is the decor of the hotel. The breakfast is sumptuous! The hotel room was a very pleasing shape, as it was not square or rectangular, but had an interesting round window alcove with shutters. The bathroom was spotless and the shower had two choices of shower head. I also liked that scattered within the hotel were little seating areas and also very pretty garden areas with decorative statues and such. All in all an excellent hotel, very good value for money.

    My room was located in new part of the building, but the old one is in really impessive rococo style. The town is very well renovated and you can feel the past, walking the streets. But the young lady at the reception is the real jewel in the hotel. She was helpul, giving much precise information abt town, that we needed, even the location of best cheese shop.     The staff was very kind and friendly. Breakfast had many varieties compared to the other Dutch hotels. The parking space was quite big and free. It was just situated in the city centre and everything was within walking distance. I will come back for the next trip. The stay was far better than the other chain hotels in the Netherlands.

    The historic centre was well worth visiting and taking time...

    The historic centre was well worth visiting and taking time to explore the city. There are plenty of coffee houses to enjoy although in the evening, a number of establishments were closed through staffing shortages. There were sufficient to enable a different restaurant each night. I thought that the price was expensive but normal for the Netherlands. Not a cheap location.

    A cute little town with a nice town center. A large church with lots of restaurants around. On Saturday there is a nice market with specialties and food. Go early, after 10:00 it is full of German tourists :-D

    We didn't have much time in Zutphen, but the old town is very charming! We definitely enjoyed our walk through town, and would have liked to stay a bit longer (Our accommodation was outside the town, so we only had about 1-2 hours to walk around)

    Good restaurants and shops; many interesting old buildings; good bus and train services to the surrounding areas, so visits to other places easily practicable. One day I went on the bus to Eefde and saw the very interesting locks on the Twente canal; another day went to Apeldoorn and the Hoge Veluwe, butthere's enough to see in Zutphen itself such as the Walpurgis church.
