The location is perfect, next to the metro, so you are on Amsterdam Centraal within minutes. There is metro every 4-8 minutes, and there is good food court in the station. There are free umbrellas to use. The mattresses and pillows are premium and there is curtains to darken the room. The breakfast is fine. The place is new and clean and there are also high quality products in the toilet (Shampoo, hair conditioner, showering gel, body lotion).

Perfect location. This hotel is ideal for those who want to stay in the city center but not actually stay there. Both the central station and the city center are easily accessible within minutes. The hotel is practically at the exit of the metro station. Several coffee shops and a market are just a few steps from the hotel. The room was clean, nicely decorated, functional, and adequate for two people (it even included an iron and an iron table). You can also open a window. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but there are coffee shops just around the corner where you can get an espresso and a croissant.

It was our third visit to Amsterdam and this time we split out stay in 3 places as we love trying different hotels experiences. Definitely I can Hotel Jakarta and would return. It is such happy, light atmosphere and the staff makes you feel welcome. Breakfast is delicious with fresh juices and pastries, pool is relaxing after a day riding bikes and walking in the city. The view from our room was lovely and the bed was absolutely 10/10.

Customer service, wonderful policies and outstanding attitude of all staff. Incredible silent for sleeping. It is not so centric but Amstel station is 10 minutes walk though a nice street. Perfect bikes for renting. Free bottled water and apples.

    Rooms were lovely, so comfortable, and quiet. The spa facilities (Sauna and steam room) were excellent. We dined at the hotel a few times and the food was great. Overall, an excellent stay and we would definitely go back. The hotel was a little ways from Haarlem center - but walkable or easy to hop on the bus for two stops (runs every ten minutes or so). And we enjoyed Haarlem so much more than over-priced and over-touristed Amsterdam.

    We felt safe the entire time we were in Amsterdam.

    We felt safe the entire time we were in Amsterdam. We could take public transport almost anywhere. Do your research before picking a restaurant. You may find some places are cheap for food, but will have pricey drinks or sides! Book your museums in advance. We recommend the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House. Also, book a canal tour, plenty of companies to choose from, just do your research. Go to the Foodhallen on an empty stomach, there is lots to choose from. Easier to get a table during the week, as weekends will be busier.

    A very good hotel, spacious rooms, a nice and large lobby and well connected to public transport and the airport. I wouldn't stay here in summer though, the windows open a crack and there is very little ventilation.

    The Shiphol Airport is our favourite airport to enter and...

    The Shiphol Airport is our favourite airport to enter and leave Europe. The Shiphol Plaza inside the airport gives you the option to eat for the first - or the last time - depends if you're coming or going - a delicious bite of European food. You may also just land with a carry-on and start shopping for clothes there. As Shiphol offers free WiFi you're able to navigate around even if your cell phone plan is not covering Europe. The main hall is also the entrance to the train station where you can start with a train (don't forget to buy a ticket at one of the many ticket machines, or pre-book online) to Amsterdam Centraal Station in the middle of Amsterdam.

    We did not visit Badhoevedorp except to sleep and eat a few meals in the apartment. We liked being able to quickly travel to the airport and from there we could catch a train or bus to ANYWHERE. We are an older couple and this apartment hotel worked very well for us.

Great for the beach, the dunes and access to Haarlem, Amsterdam and beyond, with regular buses and trains to both Lots of lovely places to eat (and what I believe to be the best chips in the world, at Fritures D’anvers) Wonderful ice cream at San Remo Cafe Mio Great for tapas Can’t comment much on the beach bars as we’ve not really used them A nice little selection of shops, you can get pretty much everything you need for your stay, right on the doorstep. 3 supermarkets all within a few mins’ walk of each other, plus lots of lovely smaller shops for groceries too

Parking costs at hotels in our budget in Amsterdam city were very high - secure convenient Q-park station in Amsterveen was E18 per day compared to E40-50 a day at hotels closer to the centre.

    Staying in Haarlem was an excellent experience.

    Staying in Haarlem was an excellent experience. Haarlem is a wonderful community with an Old European vibe. We particularly enjoyed the healthy biking lifestyle. It was a pleasure seeing everyone traveling by bike using such safe bike lanes. Fantastic restaurants and shops. Very walkable. Haarlem became the biggest surprise highlight of our vacation.

    Zaandam is a little away from the center of Amsterdam but...

    Zaandam is a little away from the center of Amsterdam but there is a train station within walking distance, though no subway system out there. There is a pedestrian shopping area with eateries and grocery stores, etc. It is a quieter area to stay than the main city center. Train fares are a bit more expensive than other EU countries but are regular and on time. Most of the eateries in this area were Turkish and similar, and delicious.

    Its a lively town with lots of places to eat drink and shop.

    Its a lively town with lots of places to eat drink and shop. Lots of lovely canal walks and a nice local park with a peeing polar bear. Whats not to like. Theres also cycle rides to windmills and a lovely beach. So plenty to see & do.

    Many opportunities for eating out and close to the beach and nature. Relatively far from the other cities but not as far as De Cocksdorp: Den Burg or De Waal would be a better option if you want to be in a more central area, but everything is relatively close so it does not matter too much.
