Village of Renesse has not much to offer : a couple of little supermarkets, sport shops and mostly fast food restaurants. This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape. It is in the middle of forest and pastures so it is very quiet. There are excellent walking trails nearby. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated with enough space to be very comfortable. Even in the cold of winter it was well heated. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality items. The quirky coffee-maker is fascinating and makes excellent coffee. There is a very good collection of maps and guide books for the local area. Hanneke's welcome was fulsome and very friendly and informative. Checkout was efficient and friendly. This is such a great place to go and relax and enjoy...
This is such a great place to go and relax and enjoy sometime in the countryside. It’s also not too far from the major cities if you want to do some day trips to The Hague and Rotterdam. I would definitely recommend this area if you want to experience a different side to the Netherlands. It was great for kids as well, nice and quiet with beautiful walks. I would recommend either having a car or a bicycle to get around. There is no supermarket in the village but there is one about 6 - 7km away. This town is so beautiful and I was properly amazed by it. It has beautiful architecture, lots of history and places to go, and friendly people everywhere. I loved visiting the Dikke Toren or Sint-Lievensmonstertoren (a monumental tower) and the museum.
