- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 160 reviewsVery charming villa located in a very charming village in Sognefjord. The villa was in general very well kept and executed. It was all the small details that impressed us: comfortable beds, good bathrooms and showers, very clean, good locks on individual rooms, code lock on main entry, high quality kitchen utensils and cutlery for everyone to use. You could really see the villa wasn't cheaply put together to make an extra buck, but that they've really put in the effort. Also the gardens around were amazing, little streams of water and fountains with a lot of flowers and plants here and there, with several sitting groups for people to use. The staff was very friendly especially the French girl who made us eggs and bacon in the morning. Owned by a very nice couple.Guest review byOliver IstadNorway
- From US$168.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,759 reviewsOkay I don't know what how to express it, but that was my BEST hotel experience. If I could put 11/10 I would do it. Waking up and see fjords, and then going to hike all the day long, and then have a nice local dish in the restaurant (bit expensive though but worth it). And I want to mention it separately - the stuff there are just fantastic. I was instructed very well about the possible hike destination, and on my last but one day of staying I found out to be in a trouble - I realised that I cannot take a bus to go to airport of Bergen at Saturday (it was out of touristic season). Stuff helped me to do checkout with partial compensation (they don't have to do it) and I was able to fly home. Thanks for that you saved me!Guest review byPavelDenmark
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 70 reviewsThe hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom
- From US$222.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,561 reviewsThe hotel is in an excellent location. The room is simply amazing, like a two-room apartment, with a balcony. Wonderful view from the balcony to the fjord and snow-capped mountains. Literally 2 minutes walk to the pier with a boat, on which we traveled through the fjords and to the railway station, where we took the train back to Oslo. The town of Flam itself is a delightful place where you want to return again. Great view of the grra and the fjord. The breakfast was excellent too. The overall experience of this trip is just great.Guest review byNatalyaUzbekistan
- From US$241.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 338 reviewsPerfect location as not right in the harbour where it was very busy with cruise passengers but very close to the little Stave Church. Nestled in the hillside it was quiet and tranquil in picture perfect surroundings. The Hytter was spacious and very comfortable with a veranda chairs table and bbq. There is a washing machine and clothes airer.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom
- From US$438.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 631 reviewsIt was really a stunning place with excellent view to the fjord. The cabin we rented was perfect for the four of us, we could sit outside and enjoy the view during our dinner. The receptionist was really kind and helpful, they made delicious pizza for us (because it was a national holiday and everything was closed).Guest review byAnnaNorway

A quiet village nestled at the head of a beautiful fiord with towering mountains all around. Excellent facilities including a bakery, grocery store, Mall of Norway and several restaurants, plus fast food outlets. Mini cruises available to nearby attractions, kayaks for hire and lakeside saunas. The most notable attraction is the world famous Flam Railway which climbs to almost 3000 feet a.s.l. up to Myrdal, where it connects to the Oslo to Bergen line.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Aurland is a quiet town with a well-stocked grocery and an excellent bakery. It is not a port of call for the huge Sognefjord cruise ships, so it is not overrun by tourists multiple times a day. By car, the town is 20 minutes from Flåm, 35 minutes from Lærdal via the Lærdalstunnelen (the world's longest road tunnel, at almost 25km), and 2.5 hours from Bergen. A refueling station is located just south of town, off the E-16 roundabout. It offers reasonable prices for electric vehicle charging and petrol/diesel fuel. And, it serves the best homemade soup in the area!Guest review byWilliam JenkinsUnited States - 10.0

I visited Sogndal as a starting point to travel to Urnes Stave Church. The little town was a welcome change from the busy life of the big city such as Bergen. The weather was cloudy and rainy, but a walk on Fjordstien was a lovely pastime.Guest review byV.AtanasovaBulgaria - 10.0

We had booked the Norway in a Nutshell route from Oslo to Bergen and our friends had recommended we break up the journey and stay the night in Gudvangen and I am so glad we did! It was the most beautiful town right in the heart of a fjord - the views were breathtaking and as not many people stayed the night like we did, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We didn't stay long enough to participate in any of the activities offered the next morning (kayaking, hiking or a visit to the viking museum) but I don't think you need to stay any longer than two nights. I highly recommend that you stay at least one night in Gudvangen if you are travelling through itGuest review byAliceAustralia - 10.0

We didn't plan any activities in Balestrand, so for a short stay it was amazing, the town has what you would need though if you have a longer stay, but that would certainly require better planning for activities to visit surrounding areas and Fjords...Guest review byOmyraSweden - 10.0

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Getting around Luster can be terrifying with one way streets and trucks. We enjoyed visiting the Stave Church nearby and Kafe Marifjora. Be aware there is a small grocery store and bakery in Luster. That's it. If you are up for it, the glamping set up looked far superior to the Inn. the setting is perfectly gorgeous. The host has elegant taste and puts that into the details. Otherwise, Luster is not close to anything.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 8.0
Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist.
Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist. It is a beautiful place, don't get me wrong. I think the Nærøyfjord cruise was the best one, compared to Hardanger Fjord and Lysefjord. Unfortunately, it was super windy and rainy so we had to turn around half way through the cruise and couldn't do much of other activities as some of them had to be cancelled.Guest review byLidyaAustralia - 10.0

Its a place which has lots of amazing things to do, every corner has a picture perfect view. In the beginning you might feel that 2-3 days are enough but I think you at least need 5 days. Good place to stay, we went to flam and Odda. Going and coming back from Odda was little bit hectic because it was raining heavily, the roads are very small, there are some places where there is only one lane, no two vehicles will fit. so be careful at such road. The nature is amazing, flam station has good food stall, I guess all major street foods.Guest review byPritamIndia
