- From US$194.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,197 reviewsFirst off, we showed up after check-in was over - not a problem, we just sent an email and the staff had our whole welcome package and keys ready on the desk. Next, the bed was comfortable, the room quiet, the bathroom clean and nice. The breakfast the next morning was a good Norwegian breakfast - mix of meats and cheeses, different breads, eggs, cereals, and some jelly donuts and square slices of chocolate cake that were honestly amazing. Couldn't stop myself from going back for more of those cakes. Coffee was delicious too. Finally, the locale. First, Aurlandsvangen is an awe-inspiring place. The fjord is vast and the scale will truly impress you. It is definitely something to see in person. The town of Aurland is really nice and has much more in it than neighbouring Gudvangen and a real Scandinavian almost ski-town feel to it. It is a very short drive away from Flam and is definitely a way I would recommend to go if you want to ride the Flamsbana (which a lot of people will report is an excellent way to see the fjords). It's a 4.5 hour drive from Oslo but what a drive. Finally there are roads to go up the mountains to get a breathtaking view of the entire fjord arrangement from up high at Stegastein - my wife is terrified of heights but didn't want to come back down! I can't recommend this place and this town enough if you want to see a beautiful, vast landscape and stay somewhere "cozy" (not small, more like hygge if you're familiar with the term). Oh and I forgot to mention the grounds of the hotel with lots of outdoor seating - you can grab cushions from the chest and they're warm, soft and plush. And it's quiet. It's honestly amazing. Come here.Guest review byOlimCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 72 reviewsThe hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom
- From US$174.09 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,798 reviewsWe stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was very comfortable and well appointed. Being early November, it was not crowded and we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The food in the main restaurant was very good as was the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even allowing us some extra time to check out so we could visit the Viking Village next door. The surrounds of the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful with the fjord and waterfalls . Loved it and recommend.Guest review byLisaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,510 reviewsI was extremely satisfied with this hotel. From the warm and attentive service by the staff to the cozy and spotless room, everything exceeded my expectations. I especially loved the bath amenities provided. Most importantly, the balcony in my room offered an unbeatable view, and I was lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights from there. The breakfast served by the hotel was also exquisite and delicious. If I ever return to Flåm, I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.Guest review byPO CHUNTaiwan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 838 reviewsThe gentleman who greeted us at the hotel was so welcoming and accommodating. He helped us sort out our ferry trip the next morning and even gave us a super early breakfast before we left. The little hotel took you back in time in the era it was built. An overall pleasant stay. We wished we could have stayed longer.Guest review byKarenAustralia

Its a place which has lots of amazing things to do, every corner has a picture perfect view. In the beginning you might feel that 2-3 days are enough but I think you at least need 5 days. Good place to stay, we went to flam and Odda. Going and coming back from Odda was little bit hectic because it was raining heavily, the roads are very small, there are some places where there is only one lane, no two vehicles will fit. so be careful at such road. The nature is amazing, flam station has good food stall, I guess all major street foods.Guest review byPritamIndia - 8.0

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing to do etc and yes, it’s the tourists’ first stop in the fjords and everything is overpriced. However, if you explore, you can find things to see and do from there. It’s peaceful and quite beautiful, so definitely go when there isn’t a cruise ship in the tiny port.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I visited Sogndal as a starting point to travel to Urnes Stave Church. The little town was a welcome change from the busy life of the big city such as Bergen. The weather was cloudy and rainy, but a walk on Fjordstien was a lovely pastime.Guest review byV.AtanasovaBulgaria - 10.0

We didn't plan any activities in Balestrand, so for a short stay it was amazing, the town has what you would need though if you have a longer stay, but that would certainly require better planning for activities to visit surrounding areas and Fjords...Guest review byOmyraSweden - 10.0

My husband I ended up in Gudvangen because we could not find a hotel room in Flåm. It turned out that we were really lucky - Gudvangen is really beautiful, and less touristy than Flåm. Our budget hotel was much better than I expected, the local seafood restaurant was great, and the Viking village was a very interesting place to visit.Guest review byJoannaUnited States - 10.0

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Getting around Luster can be terrifying with one way streets and trucks. We enjoyed visiting the Stave Church nearby and Kafe Marifjora. Be aware there is a small grocery store and bakery in Luster. That's it. If you are up for it, the glamping set up looked far superior to the Inn. the setting is perfectly gorgeous. The host has elegant taste and puts that into the details. Otherwise, Luster is not close to anything.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 10.0

Aurland is a beautiful and peaceful place with breathtaking scenery all around. The fjord views are unforgettable, and the surrounding mountains make it feel truly magical. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quiet, picturesque locations.Guest review byRasimAzerbaijan - 8.0

Flam port is not a little town it's a port with tourist facilities and the famous amazing train trip which we loved. I would recommend people staying in nearby towns like Aurlands which has a little town vibe. I did not visit the proper town of Flam but I'm sure it would also be charming.Guest review byFrancesAustralia
