Overall this was a magical stay and we absolutely loved the experience. The location is breathtaking and I am so glad we decided to stay here rather than in the main centre. We were surrounded by snow and could play and walk in whereas this wouldn't have really been much of an option if we stayed in a hotel in the centre.
The cabin was so cute, warm and perfect for what we needed. It was quite snug and a little small and maybe with 2 kids rather than 1 it may have been a tight squeeze. But overall it worked perfectly for us. I loved the deck out the front and back too.
It was cool to have a glass roof - I guess the idea was to see the northern lights but it was covered in snow, which is to be expected.
We even saw the northern lights from the lodge!
The breakfast was great and we found quite convenient. We just showed up each day and paid at the front desk.
Staff were also very helpful and friendly.
I didn't want to leave and I would recommend this place to anyone. If I return to Tromso I would definitely stay here again!

We loved the hotel so much! It was perfect for one night stay in October.
The room we got had big windows to the sea. Unfortunately it was too clouded to see the northern lights from our room but it would definitely be possible.
Also we love the common room with board games and comfy chairs. Had some tea there to chill.
Hotel was pretty calm, not many guests, which we really enjoyed.
We had dinner at the hotel at it was good, nothing out of the ordinary.
Breakfast was very good, with many options to choose from.
Staff was very friendly as well.
Would for sure stay again and recommend.

The hotel is wonderful. Rooms are very cozy, you can adjust your own temperature. Bathroom was specious. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast selection was spectacular, so many varieties from warm foods to tasty croissants and even selection of plant based milks. The location is perfect, away from the city, but within reach or some hiking options and of course the northern lights are clearly visible there.

We stayed in the hotel for one week. The price (especially in Christmas time) is very nice and for breakfast there was a big variety and amount available. The stuff is also very friendly and all our wishes were considered. We would stay in this hotel again. The hotel has a certain distance to the centrum, but everything is accessible by bus mostly all the time within a few minutes.

Lovely small city, buses are fantastic. Not a lot to do there wouldn’t stay more than 3 days. Airport signage not good, public bus pickup point was unlit and scary to be at at nighttime. AirPort Express bus doesn’t have enough buses on at night.

A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport.
And once you do... it can be magic.

Nice place for a short stay. Without a car you run out of options quickly. Smaller hiking trips and ski tours possible in the valley. Northern lights possible when there is no midnight sun. No supermarket in the village.

Very picturesque island, two days is more than enough to explore it. Sunshine is a rarity. End of season mid August. Place for camper vans to park. One shop and one cafe. You can buy only beer in a shop, no alcohol. For a harder spirits you need to travel to Tromso. Bring your food if you can, shops sells very simple and not very good staff. More or less decent meal you can have in an arctic hotel, which is pricey and just ok, no more, choice is limited.

The price was too high for the poor accommodation we had during our stay in the lodge: the apartment we booked was not available at our arrive and they move us to a cabin with old furniture, that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned well, the terrace was partially occupied by old furniture. We had the impression to be in a location very good during the Summer time, but not yet ready to welcome customers in April-May: the apartment we booked should have been definitively more comfortable and with better spaces then the one the move us, considering the rate we paid for our stay! We will not recommend this accommodation to others!

I enjoyed the amazing views as well as the peaceful environment. The apartment was neat and had everything I needed.
The bus ride into town was a great way to see more of Tromso even though it was 30 minutes each way. I loved it.

Tromsø is an amazing city; it’s known for being at great place to catch the northern lights but it’s also got lots of culture and flavor. For a smaller city, it’s got ample bars, festivals, restaurants, and easily accessible nature, that make it outrival many big cities. Catch a football game, hike a mountain, or drink beer from the world’s northernmost brewery while you’re waiting for the aurora :)

The city itself is not necessarily special or historic (though some bits are) but the area around the city has some great scenic walks and of course the outlook across the sea/bay is stunning at any time of year, but particularly in the blue hour of the winter days. Lots of buses run regularly to outlying areas and there are fast buses to the airport to connect with flight check-in times. Take a walk along Stien langs sjøen (path along the shore) to the Trondenes Historical Museum (great wee cafe there) and the Adolf cannon from WW2.

The cabin we stayed in was roomy, wonderfully provisioned, and exceptionally clean. The restaurant offers a full-selection breakfast buffet and a full-service dinner that includes a selection of regional fish deliciously prepared. The village is quaint and charming and has several local, short hikes that are walking distance from the hotel. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return someday to see the Northern Lights!

Beautiful city. Went to see the lights and did not disappoint, even with cloud cover all the days we went! We downloaded a few apps suggested by AI, and they were super helpful. We used the Svipper app to travel around town with the bus, and it worked wonders for us and our wallets! Lots of things to see and do during the day as well. The botanical gardens were beautiful and super well kept. Polaria was worth the money. Restaurants are a bit expensive but great dining! Telegrafbukta and Prestvannet are great places to see the northern lights!
