Wellington is an interesting city, it's small and compact and most things are within a walkable distance. The cafes and restaurants are excellent. New Zealand is now generally a very expensive place to travel in and the prices in Wellington reflect that. As the country is one of the best food producers in the world, it's a pity the food and drink costs here are so high. Seems out of balance to me.Guest review byKen GeorgeNew Zealand - 2.0

what happened to lower hutt - i grew up there that town was a buzzing hive of activity when i left 20 years ago i come back and the town looks dirty, old and empty. there is no life there! The mall was a joke, what has happened i use to love lower hutt, the shops are all closed. it is the saddest thing i have ever seen.Guest review byRichards - 10.0
It's the ideal getaway for a short vacation.
It's the ideal getaway for a short vacation. There are numerous short walks and dining options. Henley Lake and the Millennium Reserve are particular favourites and for a longer trip Castlepoint is hard to beat.Guest review byAndyNew Zealand - 6.0
Everything within walking distance.
Everything within walking distance. However there's NO pedestrian crossings from the motel side of the road! I'm a bit slow with bad hips and I was taking my life into my hands to get across to the mall lol. Great little cafe called "Local Authority" under the council building next to the gym! Fantastic coffee and lovely staff!Guest review byChrisNew Zealand - 8.0

I loved the friendly, relaxed vibe and the great places to eat and drink. The scenery is wonderful and the place is easy to walk, cycle or drive around. Ialso enjoyed the boutique type shops and places where you could buy something just a little bit different.Guest review byMaryNew Zealand - 10.0

All in all it was a very good experience staying and I would stay there again. The unit was nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming. The local Indian restaurant is the best Indian food I have ever had and the service was exceptional not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. We tried to get into the Thai but it was fully booked. We went to another restaurant down by the beach which was upstairs but it was so noisy that it was to hard to hear. We were down for a funeral and had a car so very easy to get around the area.Guest review byGinaNew Zealand - 10.0

We visited Greytown to see the Longbush cottage tulip display which didn’t disappoint, the gift shops in the character buildings of the Main Street are always worth a look and there are many nice cafes to choose from, we ate at The Offering and Kokodeli and would definitely go back.Guest review byAndyNew Zealand - 10.0

We went to visit family and enjoy the local amenities. There are a couple of good cafe/restaurants, although they were very busy and hard to get bookings at. Lots of great walks to be had around the area.Guest review byAnneNew Zealand - 6.0

There is no Uber, only their local Taxi, which makes getting around without a car quite difficult They do have a lot of Beaches and Reserves close by, and when I stayed at the White House up the hill, I had an epic view with the best Sunset.Guest review byClliffdog01New Zealand
