Literally wonderful hotel. It is located in a beautiful and peaceful location within a natural park. It is clear that the architects and designers wanted to respect the place, starting from the shapes and colors of the structure on the outside and in the interior design. All the staff is extremely kind and professional, assisting the customer from arrival to departure and throughout every day spent in the hotel. The breakfast is exceptional, with a huge choice of products and a lot of variety from day to day. The Azeitona restaurant inside is perfect for gourmet dining, the chef is excellent. The swimming pool is very large and allows for a nice afternoon rest if you don't want to go to the beach. Arrifana beach is few minutes away and it is very beautiful with constant ocean winds: a surfers' paradise. We stayed in a very comfortable and spacious sea view suite, with attention to all the details.

    The food and the people are amazing! The views are stunning.

    The food and the people are amazing! The views are stunning. The beach is very very long and there's lots of activities to do. As a family we ate out every afternoon and evening, and we visited the local shops for breakfast, snack and accompaniment items to eat in our Villa. We walked everywhere, but there were local transport options available too, specifically the land train. The roads are steep in parts, and will get your heart pumping, but there's well thought out alternative routes you can use with steps or other cut throughs to get you from A to B in an efficient manner! We visited the marina a few times and went out on a boat to see the Dolphins and Caves.

    An excellent place with an interesting history, as is the case with all Faro cities, but what really stands out is how friendly the people are. The town is quiet and very safe. There are numerous nearby beaches with fantastic views, perfect for anyone who enjoys swimming. Transportation is convenient, with both buses and taxis connecting to other cities. Definitely a place where we could see ourselves living. The atmosphere is simply amazing.

    A lovely town about an hours drive from Porto airport: a good base to explore further into the algarve (and the west coast). But it’s also a charming place that manages to expertly balance a sense of its history with the need to cater to tourists. I loved it!

    Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem. Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central. Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. Can be very windy as it is on the cliff top! We love the Algarve the whole lot of it I am addicted to it.

    Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

    A peaceful town with a relaxed atmosphere, yet still lively with shops and a beautiful coastline. There are plenty of nice restaurants and opportunities to enjoy nature. We also went on a wonderful boat trip directly from the beach, along the coast, where we saw impressive caves and rock formations.

    A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.

    Lovely small friendly town with a good selection of shops, restaurants and a sandy beach with water sports, rental sunbeds and umbrellas (though a bit pricey). Even though sunbeds and umbrellas were free they were not always available as some visitors block book the beds for several weeks. Town and beach maintained well, though some bins need to be emptied more frequently. Bus service available to nearby towns/villages. Lovely walk from Luz to Lagos with panoramic views.
