Great hotel near the University Do Minho: you can get there in 10-15 munutes on foot. The hotel is bran new. The rooms are nicely furnished and super clean. Fantastic breakfast. I can also recommend the restaurant fro dinner. There is a park behind the hotel for those who like to jog.

From walking through the door, we were welcomed into a wonderful hotel. Given towels for the pool for a ‘cold plunge’ for some muscle recovery. The staff even put our washing in the dryer for us (Camino Pilgrims). Great restaurant recommendation did not disappoint. Beautifully designed hotel. Above & beyond expectations.     People are very nice and helpful. We arrived in the middle of the night (around 03:45) due to flight trouble and they left us instructions for pick-up of keys. We really appreciated the offered solutions. Thanks Ernani. Our luggage arrived 2 days later and they received them on our absence. Perfect! There are around 10 or 12 small bungalows, arranged internally like apartments, with terraces and outrageous views over the valley. There are modern kitchen equipment, with induction hearth, stove, dish washer and also some pans. If you are a cook you will miss some pans and additional equipment like mixers, but for usual cooking it is sufficient. There is a heated internal pool, very nice as we stayed 5 days in autumn and had a lot of rain, wind and low temperatures. Head caps are required and can be bought on reception for 4 € each. We had our breakfast included. During the days where there were enough guests, rich and varied options were available. As people got reduced, they asked us at night before to choose food from a menu. No desperdice. Perfect! We didn't eat at restaurant, but it smelled very well during the initial days and they offer some nice combinations at a relatively high price level (this seems to be inherent to the region), but we are not really enabled to evaluate this point. Rooms were clean on arrival. In bathroom there is a heating device which allows hanging and drying of bath towels. Very nice as this small detail is often neglected at hotels. As the bungalows are placed on a steep hill, it is adequate more for a bit sporty people. Access by road is also steep but asphalted and reachable by standard vehicles. We are planning to return to Peneda-Gerês (under better weather conditions) and would certainly consider to stay at Pousadela again.

    Braga is a charming small city. The trip to Dom Jesus is well worth making. We walked from the apartment and had a very enjoyable day. There is a great variety of places to eat or drink within a very short walk from the apartment.

    This city has a really wonderful vibe.

    This city has a really wonderful vibe. I am a woman in my 60s and it felt very safe and inviting. I ate tapas at a restaurant on the boardwalk that were delicious. Walking around the main streets was easy and there were many shops to enjoy. Beautiful boardwalks for walking in along the sea.

    It's a small, quaint little town.

    It's a small, quaint little town. Everyone is quite friendly. It's also well curated. A lot of the citizens are multilingual which is quite amazing. I only stayed 1 1/2 day and arrived on a Tuesday evening and I'd recommend for ppl that are staying very shortly to maybe arrive on a Wednesday since quite a few restaurants are closed Monday & Tuesday

    Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families. Some surprising sculptures dotted around the esplanade from 1997 one in particular near the San Lorenca fort at Esponsende.

    Caminha is a quaint little town on the Spanish border. It has the local charm of a Portuguese town. We stayed in an apartment, dined out, and cooked at home. The local farmers market is on Wednesday and Saturday, ideal for buying fresh vegetables, fruit, charcuterie, and bread. The local fish market has bacalhau and fresh vegetables from Tuesday to Saturday. Our favourite lunch place was Trincaria Happy Food Bakery. Their daily lunch menu was great and good value. At the square, we enjoyed Cafe Central for a drink in the afternoon, an the pasteleria on the other side, for morning coffee. Canto do Lobo, with its slow food concept, is recommended for dinner at least once during your stay. It offers great food, great service, really good conversation, and value for money. They also have a huge beer collection, both bottles and draft beer. Easy to move around the town on foot, and several small supermarkets are open until 21.00 during the week. Walking distance to the beach (15-20min). Easy to bike to nearby communities like Moledo or Praia de Ancora. From the waterfront, there are taxi boats to Spain, La Guardia. If you are in a car, it's a 15-minute drive over the bridge, and you are in Spain. We enjoyed walks in the area and around the town and some drives to nearby towns for meals and exploration. If you are without a car, the train goes to every city nearby in the morning and afternoon, and it is only 1.5 hours by train to Porto.

    On a beautiful river with the medieval bridge and the pretty church on the other side being the distinctive features as we approached along an esplanade of trees. Lots of cafes and restaurants from which to choose. Would recommend finding those in the narrow streets located off the front.

    Valença is a lovely town half of which is still inside the fortifications. The restaurants and shops are friendly and accommodating the views from the fortress are beautiful. A word of "warning" the food is amazing and the portions HUGE!

    Very pleasant and calm. Hope to move my business here . Will move my Canadian canoe, the inflatable motor boat, diving equipment and get a sailing day boat . Then, it’s all enjoying Vila Praia De Âncora ( tried a restaurant Fortaleza, they were great, service, food and honest in their offerings) Will be back soon !

    Barcelos is a great city to spend a day or 2 while doing the Camino or traveling in Portugal. The architecture and ruins are not to be missed. The variety of restaurants and shops were fun to explore.
