United StatesThese were the best hosts ever! The owners, Ceclia and Jonas, truly know how to make a hotel experience personal and unique. We felt cared for and received such special service for our entire stay. We loved them! We had the most wonderful time at Håveruds Hotell. We came as guests and we left feeling like they were family and wanted to take them with us back to America. It truly was the most amazing visit during our month in Europe. There were so many ways that this is such an amazing place in Sweden to stay. First, our room with a balcony was overlooking the stunning lake. Relaxing on the deck was so restful and restorative. The chef, Cecilia, was an angel and made the best salads we have eaten with an incredible abundance of shrimp and wild garlic dressing made with local ingredients. Her dinners were carefully crafted and plated with such delicious taste. And, I especially loved her homemade pumpkin seed and sesame seed butter. (She should bottle this and sell it!) Jonas served up the most incredible abundant breakfasts. He was so kind and helpful showing us the property and assisting my mom through the grounds. And, he must have scheduled the sunshine for our entire visit:) But my favorite part was our special surprise sauna celebration. This is not to be missed with a floating sauna heated by a fireplace, right on the water so I could try jumping in! A true Swedish experience! Shestan and Phillipa were angles as well. They took care of our every need and made us feel welcome and at home. We will definitely go back to this gem and hopefully bring our family as well. We did grab a handful of brochures and have handed them out to others. Do not miss this lovely Hotell experience in the most gorgeous setting! After returning home, it shines as a highlight of our most amazing adventure! We miss you all at Haveruds!

Nice little town, much more pleasant when the weather is good. It has a fair amount of facilities such as choice of food shops: Ica, Hemkop and maybe a few more. There are cafe's and restaurants, one of the favourites are Kanyans Thai restaurant and cafe. They do serve nice cakes and buns with coffee etc. It is pretty stress free driving in the area and some hidden gems in the countryside: forest area and around the beaches of Varnern: Vita Sannar. Hotel is situated just beside the beatiful lake with clear water. Ambience and the view of the lake from the restaurant are very good. Breakfast and meals are good (but not many options) . We enjoyed the jacuzzi , bastu , message chair (which are booked exclusive for a family or couple). Super moose park in Ed, you pay for one day and get the next day for free. Really great experience. Lots of young moose, and the great Alfred ! Three times a day the feed the moose and explain/ tell you about the moose. After you visit the moosepark you can take a nice walk around the park with a a supervisor point at a lake, and after that you can enter the shop and buy your moose “memory”. Two shops Willy’s and Coop. Nice places to swim around the lake and a nice camp site. We spotted 2 moose, in the wild, in the evening while driving from Ed to ‘Treklistan’Nature park.
