The location was perfect for us, nestled between Ljubljana and Bled, while not being too far of a drive to Bovec either. The owners, Rudy & Veronika, are the nicest couple - we had the opportunity to chat with them multiple times during our stay. They're hospitable, kind, and accommodating as is their staff we interacted with. The grounds are well kept and the cabins & private bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Each morning, they drop off breakfast for you at your cabin and it's substantial. We rarely found ourselves eating lunch most days because of how much food we were given with our breakfast. The restaurant on the premises is also fantastic - we ate dinner there twice during our stay and the food was the best food we had during our trip to Slovenia. While we didn't utilize the hot tub or sauna during our stay, I loved having the option for these facilities. To us, this was an unbeatable value. It is a small hotel with an excellent restaurant! The facilities are very clean and well maintained! The rooms are ok. I got a room with two small bedrooms (2 single + 1 single bed) which is the only minus for someone that is used to a big bed. The surroundings are extremely quiet and there is nothing around the hotel but family houses. The walk around the lake is great to do either way.
The walk around the lake is great to do either way. A visit to the castle is a must. Vintgar Gorge is stunning and the walk back into Bled is easy to follow. Definitely visit Bohinj area whilst staying in Bled. You can’t cycle around the lake however the walk is lovely and you can get the electric boat back across the lake as an option. Great place for a little escape to the mountains when I travelled in late summer for trail running. The town is full of nice little restaurants, many of them offering superb Slovenian food. I recommend Pino Alpino for a drink and dinner at Restaurant Lipa. If you have a day to spare a trip to Lake Bled is also well worth of your time, either to go swimming or to take a trip around the lake by boat. I would recommend having a car as it can be tricky to get in and out of town without. Will come back in winter to check out the slopes!Guest review byAnnaAustralia - 10

We stayed in Bled for a couple of days before moving to Lake Bohinj, on reflection, we preferred Lake Bohinj to Bled, it was less busy, quieter, and if we wanted was in each reach of Bled for a visit. Small town with a lot of historical buildings to see and stories to hear, also the tunnels built in the 2nd world war. There is beautiful nature in (rivers Kokra and Sava) and around it that you can visit. I was there two years in a row in September and each time we had a shorter option of a guided tour. Slovenia on the whole is one of the most beautiful countries we have been to. It was very lush and green and has beautiful mountains with little villages tucked away in between. WE love our visit to to Ljubljana, Lake Bled and Postojna caves!! Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills. The small village of Mojstrana is at the beginning of the climbing area for Triglav, and the place is amazing—calm and beautiful.
