HungaryIt's a place of wonder. There is a beautiful landscape all around you with grape everywhere. The guesthouse is like an old curia. The hosts make you feel like you were real princes or princesses. Make sure to taste their own wine. It's one of the best we've ever tasted. Hopefully we could come back sometime.

Slovenian Toscana. Similar to our Croatian Istria. Beautiful surroundings. The owner Darko is very friendly, gave us lot of tips about premium Slovenian sparkling and still wines. Most of the very impressive Slovenian wineries are just few minutes from the hotel. Hotel itself has one of the most beautiful vinotheques we have ever been, and we have been around....

We loved everything about our stay here. It was the last night of a beautiful trip to Slovenia, and the Kabaj hotel and staff made us want to stay on for another week. The tasting menu we had for dinner was excellent, the surroundings beautiful, the staff kind, the rooms well-lit and comfortable, and there is nothing I could even suggest to be any better. Looking forward to our next stay!

The location is beautifully located, with amazing views over the orchards and vineyards. The family who run the place are super kind and welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel at home.
They have their own wines which are definitely worth a taste and the breakfast is great, all homemade/ local products. You probably will not want to leave!

We had been to the restaurant before and had enjoyed the lovely wines and local cuisine, but this time we also stayed for two nights, enjoyed the pool with the panoramic view and the delicious breakfast on their terrace. We will for sure be back here and we recommend!

The breakfast was delicious, with homemade marmalade and bread; the hosts were very welcoming!
I must insist that you order dinner and try their wine. Everything was delicious. My only regret is that I haven't bought chardonnay to bring home.

Right in the historical streets of Šmartno, beautifully renovated house with spacious rooms. Everything was great, incl. the restaurant - both for dinner a breakfast. A lot of local products. The staff is very proffesional and friendly.

Dobrovo was a very nice area with some nice wineries, highly recommend Edi Simcic ~ Felix was amazingly fun. It was rainy during our stay, so we will unable to do ebikes, however this would be a great activity in better weather. Belvin was a nice restaurant nearby with grilled meats and vegetables, along with salads and pizza. Maravida House is a great Airbnb with a wonderful property (3 rooms) and a very kind and helpful host, Jacob!

Super quaint and tiny. Loved it and the views but super quiet mid week - the town was pretty empty except for other travelers. Resto options limited mid week - so plan ahead and do your research. There’s a grocery store ~2 miles away and a bakery en route to the grocery story so you can stock up there if you need to. I’d def recommend Šmartno - but shoulda planned to be there on a Thur or Fri evening (not Tue and Wed) to get a different vibe. Wine bar in town is wonderful, as is the olive bar restaurant (tiny!! All home made!). We also hired a private wine guide one afternoon (Slocally) thoroughly recommend!!

The nature was stunning, and the locals were amiable and calm. The local wine and olive oil were delicious. I suggest you try a Briška Hiša for dinner or late lunch. Just plan your trips ahead, and don't trust Google Maps, as it has led me through some very wrong turns.

A beautiful village in an amazing location.
A beautiful village in an amazing location. If you want Tuscany without the crowds, come here! We stayed for a week and I'm glad we had this much time as there was so much to do. Every day we went for a long walk or we rented e-bikes so we could explore even more of this beautiful region. Also recommend the wine tasting at Klet Brda in Dobrovo as it's great value. A few things to note: Public transport isn't frequent, so our host graciously picked us up from the train station and we hired a driver to take us to the train station on our departure. Groceries are availabe in Dobrovo and Kojsko.
