Must visit island in thailand. Must visit for atleast 4 days, serene islands, very less population, all essential and necessary things are available. Great experience. We went in May with a group of friends and found it a low key and relaxing island. Beautiful beaches and a few places to explore. I think scooter hire is a must-have to be able to get around...that was a highlight for us just cruising around the island! The hike to the 'big tree' was way harder than expected but the gorgeous secluded beach at the end made it worth it. In low season it seems like at least half the restaurants and shops are closed so you can't rely on google to tell you where to go, sometimes you just have to drive around and see what's open.Guest review byLarsNew Zealand - 10.0

Lots of things to photograph here. Street photography, landscape, seascapes, drones, portraits, temples, wildlife. The Elephant Cave was awesome, and we even arranged to photograph it with our tripods. Lots of monkeys were running around. We took our scooters about 20 minutes away to a dock and launched drones to capture beautiful river deltas. If you want to visit a clean beach for swimming and water activities, this is not a good option. there was plastic and other rubbish every where, both on shore and in the water. The resorts locally are lovely though and still worth staying at. We stayed at Santhiya and it was wonderful. Thai Muang is a very quiet area, it is nice if you are looking to get away from the busy tourist areas. The beach is a long expanse of clean white beach with a few fisherman dotted along the coast. We visited the Phang Nga Coastal Fisharies Research and Development Centre in the area and it was nice to see their conservation efforts with the turtles. If you want peace and quiet and seclusion, this is the place! Be aware that you are there to relax and will be paying higher prices for items such as food an drink. It makes sense as they have to ship everything in. That being said, everything is made with care and delicious! They do have two happy hours from 5-6 and 9-10 on the beach. Lots of honeymooners! You should visit the crazy (and a bit scary) Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple, which offers both a great cave and a super observation tower. In Somdet Phra Sinagarindra Park right in the city there are beautiful caves and wild monkeys.
