The hotel was GREAT. The room was beautifully furnished, the bed big enough. Location great, we had it a short walk to hockey and the Capitol. Accessibility to the subway was excellent, it only took about three minutes to get there. Good options for eating nearby (pizza, sandwiches, sushi).

Cannot rate The Poppy higher. Amazing stay. Incredible hospitality. We got in at 6am, and basically had to sit in a park close by, but we took our chances and went back, just as a staff member was leaving. She was very happy to let us leave our bags, but did a quick check and saw our room hadnt been occupied the night before, so she let us in! An absolute living legend! Our room was stunning, we ended up staying another night. We LOVED our stay here. Highly highly recommend. Great location in a nice quiet part of Georgetown, but a short walk to M street.

Location is excellent in the NOMA district of Washington. It can get abit rough a couple of blocks up the road so I would not encourage you to walk in that direction in the early morning or late evening. Other than that the hotel is very centrally located and easy to get to almost anywhere especially Washington Union Station and so on. Staff were also very friendly and easy to get along with. Lovie at the front desk is excellent she called me by name every day! That was a nice touch.

The rooms are small but unbelievably comfortable - great beds and layout. Being able to control everything (including the colour of the lights!) from a tablet was neat. Breakfast was good, staff was nice, coffee was great - all around a great experience. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

    DC is now a sparkling city, cleaned up and safe, and beautiful, as our nation's capital should be. Come and experience the beauty of this city and our nation's capital. It was a completely different city since we were there only a short time ago. Restaurants, hotels, parks, monuments, the Kennedy Center was amazing with family style classical performances, etc. So happy we got our nation's capital back to it's beautiful self again.

    Great city people are great love the culture.

    Great city people are great love the culture. I little scared with ICE agents on the corner of the hotel. The Chris Brown concert was excellent!!! The Nationals staff was pleasantly nice with all the crowds.

    DC is a super awesome place to visit.

    DC is a super awesome place to visit. There are so many areas to see and things to do and we are lucky enough to live close enough to enjoy it a few times a year for different events! Not only are there the museums, sports, concerts and other awesome events (hello cherry blossoms), but there's all of the history (old and current) to spend time, in addition to the fabulous architecture and lovely walking areas. And the food...tons of options...a gastronomic paradise!!! I wish they consider the European vibe and do bistros/restaurants with outdoor seating in the mall area...so much potential there!
