Las Vegas was dirty and dingy. The hotel room wasn’t very clean. The strip was strewn with litter, smelled of Methane gas and there were tons of homeless/insane people all over the place. Reno is a quiet place. Stay near Trucker River down town. Not at casino unless you like to gamble. The city is noisey at night. Stay out of city if you can. We ubered everywhere. The ac did not blow out cool air, there were bugs crawling on the floor, bottom of the wall and flying bugs on the curtains. Horrible and checked out the same day. This is a ghost town, there no people. the restaurants are empty and not very good. We only found a Thai restaurant The Basil it was very good and Vino's Pizza also very good. We came for the Star Train and were not disappointed by the trip. Definitely check out the Nevada Northern Railway when in Ely. They offer a number of different train rides, and the self-guided walking tour is also worthwhile. The Star Train is especially lovely, taking passengers out to the desert at night to a star viewing area, with telescopes and accompanied by professional astronomers. Our view of Mesquite is entirely based at Casa Blanca. We actually leave our home in North Las Vegas to come here for a getaway and to use the spa. Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation.
Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation. Harveys is being re-branded with a ton of construction. Inside was seriously a shell of itself. Golden Nugget is also under construction and remodel. The whole area just felt run down. Not the Stateline we remembered from years past. I am sure it will improve once construction ends, but at this time it is a work in progress.Guest review byderek
