Captain George Seafood Restaurant on 1956 Laskin Rd is an all you can eat snow crab leg buffet is a place I recommend you go to dine. We aren't city people, so the amount of construction and people was a bit overwhelming for us. Some of the major roadways were HUGE and traffic ran fast and the locals were kind of unforgiving if you didn't know which lane to be in. Lots of flooding during heavy rains as it is only like 4 feet above sea level. We were in town to see the USS Wisconsin, as my father served on her in the 50s. The ship was amazing and quite a sight to behold. Aside from that, we didn't really bother with the rest of the city.Guest review byTracy - 8.0

We only spent the weekend, but it was an amazing time.
We only spent the weekend, but it was an amazing time. Primary purpose of the trip was a visit to Monticello, for which I've been waiting many years. But while here, we ate out a lot and did a fair amount of driving around. The restaurants we visited (Bad Luck Ramen, The Virginian, Public Fish & Oyster) were fantastic! The UVA campus is beautiful. The Saunders-Monticello Trail up the mountain is a great walk / hike. Carter Mountain Orchard was also really nice. And of course Monticello visit was AMAZING. From the time we spent here and what we saw driving around, the town seems alive and thriving, culturally active, the historical aspect is deep.
