The staff were all so friendly and welcoming.
The Safari drives we got to see most of the animals available there. The Ranger was very insightful and knowledgeable about the animals.
The establishment is breathtaking. Peaceful place with great adequate facilities.
Each room had its own personal pool and Butler.
It's great to see animals wandering around the lodge at a safe distance.
Guest were friendly aswell.
Great experience. To be repeated again some day.

The amazing staff, the welcome, the foof, the luxury rented, and of course, the 2 game drives were incredible, with us seeing so many animals, despite the rain. We were mostly dry on the trucks, and there was a lovely fire to warm us up on our return. A fantastic family experience that we will never forget. Thanks to our fantastic guide, Roxy!

The size of the lodge meant we got excellent dedicated service - Bulela the guide is extremely knowledgeable and the drives were 10/10. Thando and Kesa on front of house are so friendly and the food was great. The property is newly renovated and the finishing touches / attention to detail complete the whole experience. We will be back!

Great location in many senses - the reserve itself (only 1 hour from the airport PLZ), the location of the manor in the reserve and of course the reserve as a biodiverse paradise. Food - great - suprisingly great we have to say. The Manor is spacious, our room was much larger than expected. It had a terrace facing the open reserve where you could see animals from a distance after a shower or having a coffee. The buildings have a modern country style touch, are very welcoming, open and invite to relax. There is "the usual" 5-star stuff to do, if you are not on a game drive (pool, spa, gym, etc). Which is great if you have a partner or you are in a group with people that are not into game drives as much - they will have a proper 5-star hotel experience and be able to relax anyway. - This is a main difference to camps with tents and less luxurious equipment. Staff is very friendly - nice concept of the ranger having breakfast with you afterwards so you can reflect upon what you have seen. The staff ensured we had a truly special stay that was shared with the other small number of guests. The tents are beautiful and expertly combine luxury with a unique safari feel, overlooking the wilderness and expanse of Amakhala, from the large deck out the front back and side of the tent. All drinks and meals are included and two game drives are included per day (early morning and late afternoon). The drives and guides were amazing, we had so many exciting encounters with the animals, including lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, antelopes, giraffe and many more. The staff at Amakhala were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. the room was large and when you came back after the second safari they had turned the lights on. folded down the beds and put the heating on. That is a really great touch from the staff. The Park Rangers were very good. We had Jessie and he was very informative and had a great sense of humour. We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and...
We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and it was amazing - we were taken on a safari vehicle onto a game reserve and from there had to find the grazing giraffe. Once we spotted them, we drove close by and then got out of the vehicle to walk close (but not too close) to the giraffe to watch them eat their dinner. It was a lovely experience, and our guide Stephen was knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions. Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...) This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Amakhala Game Reserve is a haven for wild animals and a brilliant place for a safari. Many of the animals used to roam the land 100 years ago before the land was used for farming. In the early 2000's the land was returned to its natural habitat and the animals reintroduced, with the aim of conservation and breeding of endangered species. As it is in a malaria-free area, it is the perfect location for a safari for people who get bitten by mozzies! There were only a few jeeps out on drives at any time, so you rarely come across other people.
