The unit was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and everything we needed for an overnight stay. The area was quiet and safe, and parking right in front of the door made loading of luggage very easy. There is not a full kitchen, but crockery, cutlery, microwave and a large fridge. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk was also supplied and greatly appreciated.

The Merino Guest House was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The beds and linen were so comfortable, had the best sleep ever. Loved the little touches that gave the room an elegant finish. Michelle was an amazing hostess and even accommodated our dietary requirements (ie. Halaal food). The atmosphere was relaxed and felt like home. Oh, and everyone loved little Jan Hendrik! Will definitely book again.

    This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I stayed here. It has become my default stop-over when travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town. It's a full day's drive from Jnb, leaving me with only a few hours of driving the next day. The rooms are well out of earshot from the main road, and the quiet and tranquility after a long drive is amazing. I saw a giraffe right in the road as I was driving to my cabin, and the next morning there was a little Springbok on the lawn having its breakfast when I woke up. It is also only ten minutes from Beaufort West, so good dinner is always within easy driving distance.

    The stay was amazing, we were very happy with everything. We've stayed here 3 times now and we will definitely be coming back. I would suggest putting some bug spray in the rooms in case one encounters a spider and some spoons with the coffee mugs (I think there are usually spoons, we just didn't see any on our last stay). As less of a priority they could slowly start replacing the pillows.

    Not our first stay at the Inn which is a a favourite stop on our trips netween Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is a beautifully preserved Inn combining wonderfull traditionally furnished bedrooms in the original building and more modern rooms in the large garden. The staff are ever welcoming and helpful and the gardens a wonderful haven of peace.

    Travalia is a little oasis in the Greater Karoo, just when your trip is too long this little jewel appears on your horizon. Apartment was clean and had all the facilities you need. If you don't want to braai under your nice veranda, you can make a booking at the restaurant. Or, if you want to braai under the Karoo milky way, you can order in advance a good braai pack, salad and "braaibroodjies". For breakfast you can make use of the Travalia Padstal where you can enjoy a traditional breakfast or a variety of pies. The shop stocks also Karoo lamb packs as well as many treats and gifts.

    Merweville is a beautiful town! Friendly community. The town is very clean and neat. The best coffee and breakfast at Die Boekklub with a shop to buy presents for family at home. There is a nougat factory as well - Karoo Blessings, unfortunately they were closed when we passed through, but we could find their yummy treats at "Die Boekklub" in town. The Graveyard is well looked after, we visited a family grave and we were very impressed! Everywhere you drive, people will greet you with a friendly smile! It gives you a warm feeling of caring! Loved the town.

    The location is very good The room very Comfortable and neat If you want to stay there without breakfast might be a better idea We paid for breakfast but did not eat.Menu very poor indeed..The owner should make sure all is set in the bedroom before guest arrives .Hand towels are a.must.Toilet rolls are a must.Sugar for tea is a must.and if you pay for breakfast it should be provided.not just scrambled eggs and boerovorce

    Very friendly clean town.

    Very friendly clean town. Locals amazing, beautiful church and houses. Only one coffee shop (closes at 16:00) but Ronel provides homemade cooked dinners. We had Springbok pie . Local farmer pointed us to best spots for sunset and sunrise photography.

    In today's living in South Africa, this is undoubtedly the cleanest town I have ever seen. Town and residential areas. Everyone we met, truly welcomed you to their place of business. The Owner of the B & B was particularly helpful with whatever we asked. No matter who we spoke to, every soul was so helpful with a smile and happy travels, thanks for visiting our town; - one could definitely not ask for more. Plenty of our choice of eating places, With GPS assistance it is really easy to find your way around. Those who can afford, Game Farms close by.

    We did not venture through Nelspoort and only stayed at The Vale for 1 night. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The unit was small, clean, and comfortable. The shower entrance was very small and the water did not drain. No airconditioner in the unit but a fan was provided. We experienced load-shedding there at the time but they did have lights until 22:00 and they gave you time to shower until then. This is a perfect venue for weddings. Beautiful setting.

    We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the charming Cindy's Huisie! The antique furniture and decoration of the house was a nice surprise. There was even a splash pool. Security and parking was excellent and we had a great braai, also using the unique outdoor furniture. Highly recommended.
