We were blown away by the peace and quiet atmosphere, by the lush garden with beautiful trees. I loved the barbeque spot and swimming pool. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was no TV, but it didn't matter. We had a laptop. Will MOST DEFINITELY GO BACK!Guest review byvan den BerghSouth Africa

Unfortunately we were very sick when we were there, "they were very concerned about us. Drove us to a doctor & the next day drove us to the hospital. They went above & beyond in their care of us. A special thanks to Kenneth & Godfrey!Guest review byClaireSouth Africa

We did not have a chance to use the wood-fired hot tub because we ran out of time. Joy, our host, was very pleasant and helpful.Guest review byJuliannaSouth Africa

Kleinmond is a fantastic holiday destination to rest and explore the beauty of nature. The combination of sea, lagoon, mountains and fynbos as well as many pathways along the coast with longer hiking trails make Kleinmond a true gem of nature. Lovely coffee shops, restaurants and small shops make this coastal town very special. There are many activities for families - kayaking, hiking, swimming etc. Superb views and very well connected to nature.Guest review byMarietteSouth Africa - 6.0

We chose the route via Caledon, to Chelsea Flowers at Stanford, rather than the usual route through Hermanus. Beautiful drive through valley from Caledon to Stanford. Best in Caledon was dinner at The Barn Restaurant ... don't judge a restaurant by it's front door!!! It's a gem: extensive menu, generous proportions, friendly service, quirky ice buckets! Shop for personal essentials was easy to find. Spa and Casino at Caledon Hotel were of no interest to us. Flowers weren't open on the overcast day.Guest review byJillianSouth Africa - 10.0
Felt like we were going back in time!
Felt like we were going back in time! So rustic, tranquil and relaxing. Blessed to know that places like this still exist! Horses roaming the streets, local markets and most venues, pet friendly! What more can one ask for?Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Bettys Bay is a charming little coastal town.
Bettys Bay is a charming little coastal town. I think its perfect for tourists and locals if you are looking for a laid back breakaway. Its quite easy to get around and find different places of interest. We enjoyed visiting the Stony Point Penguin Colony. We spotted quite a number of birds. There are lovely trails for short hikes on the mountainside. The beach is wonderful with white soft sand. The water is quite cold though.Guest review byLorettaSouth Africa - 10.0

Our trip was mainly a get together with an old friend who lives in Botrivier, somewhere I had never been before. Definitely include some time at the Botrivier hotel bar - so much history! The biltong in the kiosk opposite the hotel is a definite! people are friendly and chatty. Add it to your road trip as a destination. Lots of winefarms ( who knew!) And include a nights stay in a Silver Stream caravan at Old Mac daddy!!! definitely!!!Guest review byBronwynneSouth Africa - 10.0
It is a very peaceful village with a lovely beach.
It is a very peaceful village with a lovely beach. I was there off season which was perfect as coming in summer must be hectic. Met very helpful people from the pharmacy, the small supermarket and the laundry lady. Excellent restaurant - The Cork Eatery! Very nice owner and very good food. Enjoyed a lovely meal. Beach is beautiful but I may have gone to the wrong entrance as a bit of a trek to the sea but well worth it. Big plus - pet friendly area.Guest review byKathrynSouth Africa - 8.0
Great place to unwind and recharge ones body and soul.
Great place to unwind and recharge ones body and soul. Attentative staff is a plus factor. Activities are suitable for those who enjoy the outdoors. We had all our meals at Trails End. The menu offered a variety of foods. We are a retired couple and came mainly to rest and recuperate. The pool was a bonus and used well. Next time we will include a hike on one of the trails.Guest review bychrisSouth Africa - 10.0
Loved the area and the Elgin market.
Loved the area and the Elgin market. Alot of good wine farm however most are closeon a Monday. We went to a few that was closed but we're still allowed to enter and take pics. All the staff at the various winefarms could suggest to us where to get the full experience on the Monday. The hostess at Paul Cluver wine tasting was so well informed and professional. People love what the do. Very good experience all roundGuest review byJanineSouth Africa - 10.0
What a wonderful experience to stay at Hartebeesrivier.
What a wonderful experience to stay at Hartebeesrivier. The directions were spot on and my small car made it comfortably even on the dirt roads. It was a beautiful drive through farmlands. On arrival, I was delighted to see first world amenities (wi-fi, TV, comfortable beds with high-quality bedding, plush towels and everything you need in the kitchen). There are two bedrooms with double beds - and a cot for those who might need it, together with a full bathroom downstairs. There is also a loft room upstairs with one double bed and two single beds and another bathroom. The cherry on top is that there is both a hot "jacuzzi" (kol kol) and a cold small swimming pool close to the undercover braai outside. We took walks around the farmlands and took great pictures. Two nights was a bit short but we did all return home relaxed and restored. I highly recommend this venue.Guest review byZenobiaSouth Africa - 8.0
It was a lovely little town.
It was a lovely little town. The town is in close proximity to many tourist destinations, but is much more affordable. Fair warning, most places are closed around 16:00/17:00, and the town becomes a bit of a ghost town. Locals are very friendly. The town is very safe and you can walk around without any problems.Guest review byAlessandro
