We have visited Clanwilliam frequently and have always enjoyed our stay there. We were disappointed in our choice of stay this time as we felt that no one other than Peter, the Malawian assistant, was at all interested in whether we were there or not and that very little thought had been put into making guests feel comfortable or welcome.Guest review byKrügerSouth Africa - 4.0

There is absolutely nothing to see in Citrusdal, according to our hosts. They sent us to Clanwilliam for the Saturday. I was the last day of the Wild Flower show, so we went and enjoyed it. Otherwise, we had to view orange pickers shopping or loitering in the streets. Not our chosen pass time anymore. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. We actually went that direction, from Cape Town, to experience the hot spring baths, but it was fully booked for the Friday and Saturday, and no day visitors are allowed. We, however got a room for the Sunday night, at a special price of R1600 for the two of us, at The Baths, some 18 km out of Citrusdal. Very expensive but superb! Albeit, also, strangely enough, no coffee or tea or refreshments awaiting you in your quite expensive suite. But the accommodation is stunning. So whenever you want to go flower watching, cart all your stuff along, the nice Westcoast people isn't giving away no free coffee :)Guest review byMarianneSouth Africa - 10.0

We only stayed one night at Maskam Guest farm, but I will definitely return. We did not see much of the area as the trip was to see family only. The mountains are spectacular and the night sky is so stunningly clear. I would love to also roam on the farm and see more of it.Guest review bydeVilliers - 6.0
The Klawer hotel is something to visit.
The Klawer hotel is something to visit. We had a very interesting meal there. The place itself is not spectacular, but for atmosphere you must visit this Margo's restaurant, if only to see the "Halucinogenic fish" - at least that is what the waitress called the inhabitants of the fishtank that was sitting opposite our table.Guest review byvivSouth Africa - 10.0

A magical place to spend a couple of days or weeks! Incredible rock formations, scenery, and places of interest to visit. Wonderful hikes, unfortunately many of which were closed due to the recent firesGuest review byAllanSouth Africa - 8.0

We were very well treated by everyone in Clanwilliam and had we not been having car problems we would have stayed longer to explore the nearby Biedouw Valley flowers and the Clanwilliam Gardens and big Dam.Guest review byJohn H M CarterSouth Africa - 10.0
The healing waters of the spring.
The healing waters of the spring. The rock pools are so great, relaxing ... your body and spirit are renewed after relaxing in the pool or rock pools. The absolute quietness are wonderful. Each property or house is designed so that you feel you are the only people around. Love the privacy and connecting with nature. After 43 years of visiting the property love all the upgrades and that it still keep the historic buildings in such a good condition.Guest review byDunhofenSouth Africa - 10.0

The town is quaint and a nice safe walk around it in the evening was a pleasant surprise. The Old Jail is a must see together with the nurseries. Lodge was very accommodating and people seem friendly and helpful. The Shell garage attendants were funny and made filling up an experience. All told - fabulous little dorpie!Guest review byBresler - 10.0
Absolutely stunning views.
Absolutely stunning views. Definitely recommend high clearance vehicle. Lots of gravel roads, some are not great. When it rains, the roads are dangerous. Lots of driving through very deep puddles and some bridges washed away. But A+ for adventure.Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0

absolutely terrible from the car parking being unsafe ,vagrants at door , dark ,smelly reception . The receptionist was kind and polite . walking to the rooms the corridor was dark and dingy , the rooms were so old fashioned , needs a good pot of paint and bathrooms were from the dark ages ,mouldy and off white .Guest review byAlessandraSouth Africa
