How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The sofa bed was uncomfortable as it dipped in the middle due to broken springs

Buffet area was too small and easily became crowded. Room was nice but it is starting to become dirty with visible dirt on furniture and carpets.
Breakfast was good, good choice and quality of food.

The breakfast area is quite small for the amount of people. I accept there will always be certain times when the volume of people will be higher but there are a lot of stations in a small area which is quite chaotic for high volumes of traffic
Hotel is comfortable and our room was pleasant although 1 tea bag between 2 people took some stretching. Although the hotel is out of central London it was easy accessible by train

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we commented after we left that we would definitely return to this hotel again if staying in London. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Firstly, we were able to check in early which was great. We had an issue with our room air conditioning and they moved us into a new room without any issue immediately half way through the night. They were also on hand to bring extra pillows late in the evening when needed as I am pregnant and needed some extra support! The breakfast was quite varied with lots of options, hot and cold. The location for us was perfect as we didn't want to be in the hustle and bustle. We really didn't notice the planes at all once in our room and there seemed to be no flight take offs at night?! (there may well have been but never disturbed our sleep/heard them). It was really handy to have Royal Albert station literally a couple of minutes walk away so it was super easy to get into central London. Definitely recommend!

It was hard to lock our bathroom door.
The Staff were fantastic, as was the breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. Location to the ExCel was great.

We had an issue with our shower. The water wouldn’t go down. It over spilt and because of the design of the shower it poured over onto the floor. Called reception desk and they said someone would be up. I didn’t know whether to get dressed again or wait 5 mins. But in the end, got dressed and a knock on the door about 25 mins later someone came up. Then not long after, maybe 15 mins later someone else came about it. But it was already sorted.
Good location. Even by the airport it didn’t disturb us once! The windows are very thick. Staff were nice: room size was good. Amazing breakfast options! Make your own waffles!! They had abit of everything. Staff very on the ball in the morning too.

Didn’t get much sleep as the pillows are so uncomfortable. They are really soft and unsupportive. No tomatoes are available on the cooked breakfast counter. The hair dryer broke, the one I was then supplied had a loose connection so kept cutting out. I gave up drying my hair at this point!
There’s a good choice of food for breakfast. I particularly like the waffle maker. The cooked range is okay. Toiletries are supplied in the en-suite. Good location for the O2, with the DLR near by.

Breakfast was just a free for all. Would be better if people were given specific tables to sit at and a one way system put in place at the food
Great location and easy to get to. Was checked in very early which meant I could leave my suitcase and go explore quicker.
