Romantic Hotels in Merzouga

One of our destinations in Morocco was Merzouga erg, so we checked what are the options to stay there and found out that there are either conventional hotels or tent camps. If you have a tent camp why would you stay in a normal hotel? It's boring and not so attractive, so the option is clear - if you go to Erg just try some camp (there are a lot around). Then among camps there are options: some located inside the Erg and can't be reached by normal cars (I read some reviews where hosts asked additional money to bring you to the camp, which is quite insane and will break your attitude to the country). Here the camp is easily reached by any car as it is located at the edge of the Erg, so you can always come to your car if you need to take something or keep something inside. We came late in the evening when it was already quite dark, so did not find the place immediately. Routed first to a wrong road (though next to the right one) and finally stuck in the sand. Ali and his brothers helped us leave the trap. About the place: - you need to understand that this is a tent and be prepared to it. At night there will be cold (first night it was 4C, the second night it was a bit warmer), but you can ask for extra blankets if you feel you need them. - toilet is at a separate tent as well as the shower. - very friendly hosts, I think they made very positive impression of the country (unfortunately in some other cities all these beggars for money made an alternative view and they just dishonour the country, but we never gave money just because someone asks - no no way, sometimes even tried to explain why this is not the way they should go and it is not the right strategy, because if everyone would be like me the beggars would never get anything). But yes, thank you Ali, Brahim, Muhammad you saved your country in our attitude and after the whole trip we agreed that the day spent in Merzouga probably was the most impressive (well, camels were really great experience).

I need to say that this was one of the best accommodation I have ever had. And I already had been in hundreds of accommodations. Very cozy, comfortable tent with toilet and shower between the dunes is something amazing. All guys were really friendly and the food was excellent. I would give you 12 of 10 if possible. Really recommended to every one! Absolutely great experience! Camel trip with Mohammed to Sahara was very interesting. Super friendly staff! Everything was perfectly prepared including tasty dinner in the camp. You can even listen to the live Berber music. They helped me with very early arriving and departure from Merzouga. Kasbah Azalay was a fantastic place to stay—peaceful, beautifully designed, and full of charm. The rooms were spacious and clean, with stunning views of the Sahara right from the terrace. The staff were kind and attentive, and the food was excellent. A perfect stop if you’re exploring the desert—highly recommended!

The breakfast was great with incredible views from our room as well as the pool area.

I strongly suggest to take building next to sand dunes, it was marvelous. Plenty of space and great design. Exceptional view in sand dunes. Serving wine.

the hotel was the perfect choice for us to stay in Merzouga. It is close to both the dunes and the center. The rooftop is beautiful and offers magical views of the sand dunes. We also enjoyed refreshing ourselves in the clean and lovely pool. Dinner was delicious, fresh, and truly amazing. Our stay at Les Roches Merzouga was unforgettable we will never forget it. The hotel made an instant impression with its impressive appearance. Within its walls, there are well tended and designed indoor planted areas and a very large outdoor relaxing area around a pool with very clear, clean water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, very well furnished and clean. I have stayed in many hotels on my tour of Spain, Morocco and France, and this one up at the top.
