The host together with her two dogs welcomed us the best way possible, we are so grateful! The location is incredible with a beautiful view on the city at night but also it is located near Hozan-ji which is a great and peaceful temple both during day and night times, I recommend !!

The accommodation facility of Gyokuzoin Temple features a hot public bath. The hotel is located in Mount Shigisan and houses a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines.

I liked absolutely everything. The room, the food, the premises, writing sutras, morning prayers and of course the spacious public bath. I'll definitely stay again when I can.

The included meals were exceptional. As a western family we really enjoyed the onsen experience. Our room did not include a bathroom so the shared onsen was compulsory! A great cultural experience.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff warm and welcoming. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic. The presentation of each was beyond expectation and all courses were delicious.

Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk.

Overall a great experience and a highlight of our trip - amazing host, excellent dinner and breakfast (make sure to order these when staying here!), very cozy Japanese-style rooms. Good location, too - very peaceful neighborhood, but still close to all the sights. We'll be sure to stay here again next time we're in Nara!

A 12-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara Train Station, Hotel New Wakasa offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

The staff were very polite and friendly. The room we stayed in was spacious for our family of 5 and we really liked the Japanese experiences that we had at Hotel New Wakasa. The rooftop sitting area is lovely.
