When we made our reservation, we opted for the all-inclusive package that included breakfast and dinner. Both meals were fantastic! They consisted of a variety of small dishes, making it a delightful culinary experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They kindly picked us up from our room for breakfast and dinner, and they even provided roomservice throughout our stay. Additionally, they always greeted us warmly whenever we returned from a day trip. The room itself was a pleasant surprise. It featured tatami mats, which we were instructed to leave our shoes at the entrance and wear our socks or slippers provided by the hotel. This unique experience added to the overall charm of our stay. Moreover, it was our first time visiting an onsen, which was a delightful and relaxing addition to our itinerary.

The warm ambiance is further enhanced by local artists' paintings adorning the walls. The hotel is very good situated in Takayama, near the train station and also near the old city. The staff is extremely helpful and nice (even that they almost speak no English). The room was big and well equipped. The Onsen is very nice. Dinner was superb with all kind of Japanese plates. The staff explained every thing what it was and how we were supposed to eat it, everything was served in a beautiful way.

The hotel features hot-spring baths, a restaurant serving breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. This ryokan is introduced in Michelin Green Guide Japan. The staff were so kind and accommodating, and truly tried to go above and beyond for their guests. Every time we came back to the hotel we were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome back and ushered into the warmth and comfort of the reception area. Breakfast was exceptional and beautifully presented. The hotel also arranged for our luggage to be sent to our next destination which was extremely helpful as it meant we didn’t have to worry about storage lockers during our visit to nearby Shirakawa-go. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we’d be beyond delighted to come back.
