Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding on the tatami (woven mat) floor. Everything was great. We used the service to pick up our luggage from the luggage storage, and explored our way up to the beautiful hotel location on foot. The staff were welcoming. Dinner was both beautiful and delicious, and it was great to be able to book the bath for a relaxing private bath. The rooms were spacious, pretty, relaxing, and quiet with an amazing view!

Our stay at this modern hotel on Miyajima Island was fantastic from start to finish. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Although the hotel is about a kilometer from the ferry terminal, they offer a free and very convenient transfer service, which made everything super easy. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the famous Itsukushima Shrine, the iconic torii gate, and also close to the ropeway up Mount Misen. We chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, and the dining experience was truly exceptional — dinner was a beautifully presented multi-course fine dining experience, and breakfast was a traditional Japanese-style meal that we really enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and check-in, check-out, and arranging the transfer were all effortless. The small public bath was a great way to relax, especially the outdoor section, which was tastefully decorated with plants and felt amazing on a chilly night after a day of hiking. Highly recommended for a peaceful and luxurious stay on Miyajima!

At the ryokan, units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Staff was great, room exceeded my expectations. The whole experience itself was awesome.

Set in Yasugi, 26 km from Mizuki Shigeru Road, Shokinkan offers rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. The property is situated 26 km from Lake Shinji, 27 km from Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum and 24 km from Matsue Station. Shimane　Art　Museum is 26 km from the ryokan. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay the most comfortable. Would travel here for the food alone, what a feast! (tip: do a very light lunch prior). These hard working people and their outstanding building and surroundings really need more international visits. So, if you’re in the market for a Adachi museum visit. Please consider this ryokan as your stay. I would recommend a 2 night stay as you can explore the temple grounds and unwind. In other words; It’s been absolutely perfect. どうもありがとう。

The units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. Very friendly and helpful staff. The free drinks and ice cream on the rooftop bar was a nice touch. Great location. Easy walk from the ferry and to the sites of Myajima island.

The interiors are beautifully authentic, and the garden is truly stunning — a peaceful retreat in itself. The breakfast was traditional and absolutely delicious, with the hosts taking great care to accommodate our food preferences and limitations. The hospitality was warm and thoughtful, making our stay both comfortable and memorable. Highly recommended!

Situated in Onomichi and only 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Suminoe Ryokan features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The 3-star ryokan has garden views and is 28 km from Saikon-ji Temple. The ryokan features family rooms. Beautiful Ryokan in an old traditional building with a, lovely garden, right next to the sea. I enjoyed my stay right from the start with the warm welcome at check-in (owner could speak some English - thank you). The room was like the photos promised, a cosy futon waiting for me (there was also a tasty lemon treat in the fridge). Although small, the bath was nice and I could relax after a day of cycling. Breakfast was also delicious. Next time, I'll book dinner as well.

This recently renovated ryokan is located 1.8 km from Shoin Shrine and 3.2 km from Hagi Station. The ryokan features family rooms. Very kind people, beautiful house, extraordinary garden view from the room and the Onsen very enjoyable. Food great!! (very Japanese for Europeans)
