The room was big. There is a good coffee shop close by.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Everything was fabulous but more importantly the staff went above and beyond to help me and ensure a great experience. I so appreciate all the help.

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.

Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room comes with a flat-screen TV and a seating area. A safety deposit box is also provided. The place is beautiful. Its peaceful and surrounded by nature, but very close to center of yown and all the important spits. You can get anywhere walking. The staff and the monks are nice friendly and very helpful, even with us non japanese speakers, they were so patient and go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Especially enjoyed the onsen. At night, you can hear the rain and the frogs, loved it! The breakfast was amazing!

I highly recommend this place Location is great and the room quite big enough for all the family In bonus, we had private onsen for just the 4 of us everyday with no extra charge and a private tea ceremony performed by the owner's mother. Fabulous experience thanks to Hachi San and his mother!

Rooms feature tatami-mat flooring, comfortable futon bedding and paper sliding screens. They are fitted with an LCD TV and a safe. Bathroom facilities are shared, and the public baths are open 16:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00 daily. Amazing place to stay, extremely recommended. A really great experience in general - I stayed in one of the suites and could not have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful place to stay, only a short walk from Okunoin Cemetary and an easy walk to the rest of town. Very close to the bus stop from Koyasan Station. Staff were always helpful and the meals were unbelievably delicious and satisfying, even though I needed to ask for a soy-free modification. The best food I ate during my stay!

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. This was my favorite hotel. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was sick from food poisoning and could not enjoy it to the max, but the staff was extremely good to me. I cannot thank them enough. The futon beds were extremely comfortable, all the structure really took me back to almost 200 years ago. I really wanted to get the traditional breakfast, but I was too sick so I got the western one that was delicious. Cant wait to be back.
