Conveniently located in central Kyoto, Ryokan KANADE offers a Japanese-style garden. Kyoto Station is a 15-minute drive from this property. The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I cannot stress enough how enjoyable and comfortable our stay has been at Yuno Yado Shoei, due to the spa, sauna and sento options on offer. After a long day of overwhelming touristic activities and nontop walking in Kyoto, using the baths, late at night has helped us to relax and recharge for the next day. Unfortunatelly our stay wasn't long enough, to try all the different bath options on offer. The rooms were very spaceous, and bright, and we particularly enjoyed the little breakfast tray, with the sencha and nama yatsuhashi confectionary offered everyday. Staff at the reception have been very polite and much eager to answer all our questions and offer usefull advice and help (umbrellas, call taxi, etc) We will miss it greatly!

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.

Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room comes with a flat-screen TV and a seating area. A safety deposit box is also provided. Superb location, comfortable accommodation, and cultural activities opportunities including a tour of the Danjo Garan complex across from Saizenin (Japanese required) and guided meditation (English ok) for a small fee. Would happily stay again!

Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The staff are very nice in help you to park the car and taking photo. The hotel is very close to the two famous onsen. The dinner and breakfast are rich and traditional.

Rooms feature tatami-mat flooring, comfortable futon bedding and paper sliding screens. They are fitted with an LCD TV and a safe. Bathroom facilities are shared, and the public baths are open 16:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00 daily. It was exactly what you’d want from a temple stay. Out of the hustle and bustle and into nature and peace.

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. The staff was wonderful and the service we received was unforgettable. What a wonderful experience! The futon was very comfortable too
