Warm welcome from our hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Great location within walking distance to snow monkey park and local town. Well appointed and spacious villa. Excellent breakfast and dinner, the latter was in the form of a tasting menu so had the opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine that we wouldn't normally opt for. On our second night we had the place to ourselves so it felt very special.

Everything! We travelled as two adults with our 18month old. The view is incredible, we were lucky to have a snow day on day of departure. A lot of thought has gone into this home and we loved all the intricate details - making our own drip coffee, using the clay pot to make rice, and fire sauna. The hot tub was an indeed a favourite. The cabin feels like you’re truly staying at a home that’s lived in and you get to experience a little of their life. The photography within the home is amazing. We spent two nights and remained at the house the entire time, one morning we did go on a small walk on a trail from the house. We travelled by train from Nagano to kurohime station, and pre arranged a taxi for pick up. We used google translate on arrival to book our taxi for day on departure with no problems.

The house is charming and gives you the Japanese home experience but with modern amenities. It feels like home away from home. It's in a quiet neighbourhood and once you're used to it, the 15-minite walk to Zenkoji temple and riding the bus into the centre will be so simple. The host is helpful and efficient with responding to enquiries.
