This was a relaxing and beautiful place to stay, with the best breakfasts ever (we tend to choose places with exceptional breakfasts but this one was beyond exceptional - homemade crepes every day with choice of jams from the garden or honey from a neighbour, homemade cakes, eggs from the hens cooked to order, pastries, fluffy croissants, fresh orange juice from their own orange trees, and fruit (the oranges of course the best! So fresh and juicy). Our 'house' had almost everything you might want, including a kitchenette, sofa, good big shower, a present of some home-made liqueur, and a balcony with amazing views of the village on the hill. The village (Castelo de Vide) is very picturesque and worth spending several hours wandering around (good restaurants too, if you're not doing your own cooking). Internet connection is best outside but was pretty good for a remote country estate. There is plenty of space for parking and also for solitude. It's worth asking Antonio if you can see the baking oven, vegetable garden etc. - this is quite something!

We stayed at Quinta d'Abegoa's apartment, Casa do Souto, which is very cosy and ideal for two people. Everything is really well thought out so the apartment felt bigger than it actually was. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The outside space is beautiful - we loved sitting out, listening to the birds and the bells from the sheep, while enjoying the views of the both the castle and over towards the mountains and Spain. We made the most of being able to walk to restaurants in Marvao (although it is uphill all the way!) but we also cooked at the property - the kitchen is tiny but is very well-equipped and has everything you need to self-cater. Our host, Rosa, looked after us extremely well, bringing us breakfast every day, and nothing was too much trouble. We love the area around Marvao and will definitely return for another stay at Casa do Souto.

There are three levels in this apartment - two with bedrooms and toilets and one with kitchen and sofa. Everything was very comfortable. We wished we stayed here at least two nights not only for the condition of the apartment but also because there are a lot of things to see not far away from Nisa. The town itself was also very interesting.

Absolutely loved the location. Every single little detail was thought through, everything that you could possibly need was available throughout all the rooms. Cleanliness was impeccable, nothing to complain about. The beds were extremely comfortable and we liked the touch of having different pillows for different preferences. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Loved the pool table. Perfect little piece of heaven. Perfect to seek some peace and quiet. Friendly hosts and easy check in. Great communication.

Absolutely perfect! The house is so beautiful and comfortable! The front of the house is all in glass, with a breathtaking panoramic view! I's so cosy and all the details made us felt so welcomed. Every bedroom had its own bath, the beds were super comfortable. You have stunning views from every room. There was a lot of space. Outside, the house has an amazing private terrace, so comfortable to relax and enjoy the view! The sense of peace we feel there is unique. Irene is an excellent hostess and made us feel so welcome! We loved everything and we want to come back!
