Amazing, cozy apartment. Historical house but clean and fresh. Everything necessary included (fresh towels and bed linen, coffee and kitchen accessories). We came with a dog and were greeted with two other friendly dogs and a curious cat. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly, definitely recommended!

A Perfect Solo Escape – 10 Stars Aren’t Enough! I stayed here alone this summer, hoping to unwind, recharge, and enjoy a bit of peace by the lake — and this hotel exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a dream. The setting is unreal: a crystal-clear alpine lake nestled among towering green mountains, with summer sunshine sparkling on the water and wildflowers blooming everywhere. The view from my room — especially from the balcony — was absolutely breathtaking. I often just sat there in silence, taking it all in. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between comfort and charm. It felt cozy and welcoming, but still elegant. Traveling alone can sometimes feel awkward, but here I felt completely at ease. The staff were genuinely kind — always helpful, never intrusive — and made me feel like more than just a guest. Every morning started with a peaceful breakfast overlooking the lake, and every evening ended with a sunset that looked like something from a painting. I spent my days swimming, walking along the shore, hiking nearby trails, and simply enjoying the stillness. This place gave me exactly what I needed: space to breathe, think, and just be. Amazingly restored historic building with a very relaxed and friendly, yet privacy respecting way. Common areas are beautiful and the whole place is an inspiration. Podenhaus is located comfortably in Bad Aussee in a way that it’s easy to make day-trips to nearby lakes. Bicycle rent is also nearby. Will surely be back!
