JerseyWe had such a wonderful stay at this lodge! The place is very cozy, spotless, and clearly well cared for. Since it’s run directly by the owners, the service feels personal and truly superb. The location is excellent—just a few minutes’ walk to both Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere town, making it very convenient.
One thing that really stood out was the thoughtful touches: complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies, all refilled daily—something you don’t usually get at hotels. We booked this for our advance wedding anniversary and were greeted with a sweet little surprise, which made our stay extra special. We only paid a small amount for an additional chocolate treat, which was absolutely worth it.
Breakfast was also fantastic, with plenty of options to choose from. You can really feel the love and care Rich and Ada put into running their lodge—it makes all the difference. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Lake District!

We were immediately shown around the hotel & everything was explained to us which was a really personal touch. The spa was absolutely beautiful and having the pool side bar in there felt like a really nice luxury. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Room was stunning and very spacious pictures do not do it justice. Spotlessly clean and the spa facilities were perfect, sauna, steam room and cold plunge is a must. Two hot tubs one hot and one cool, we paid for massages on arrival and was not disappointed. Natasha who performed my lava shell back massage was very bubbly and polite. Staff are friendly, with a glass of prosecco on arrival (mulled wine at Christmas time). Rooms are really nice and clean (have only stayed in rooms with a hot tub). The hot tub on the balcony is good to relax in if that's what you like or you can go round the town which is only a 5 minute walk away. The best part is the pub/spa. I liked the little gifts of products left by the maids on the bed. The breakfast was very tasty and catered for everyone. All rooms such as the cocktail bar and lounge were lovely to sit in.
