The host, Lasantha was very warm and very helpful. They have a beautiful stay, like a chalet, very well made and maintained. The food his wife cooked was OUTSTANDING. They gave us honest recommendations for everything. Hands down, best accommodation on budget.

The place has beautiful garden and is owned by very kind family. Although our train got delayed an hour, the father awaited us on station with his tuk tuk. The next day he has driven us around for sightseeing of Pidurangala (best view of Sigiriya), Damballa Rock Temple, visit in Herbs Garden, massages at Ayurveda center. The place itself was very nice (super clean) and breakfast - delicious!! 😋

We upgraded to the A-frame tree house with a private pool a few days before arrival, and it was the best decision. The pool was the perfect size to cool off for our family of five. We loved our stay here. While this hotel might be a bit further from Sigiriya, they organised a driver in a safari jeep to take us where we needed to go. We also went on a game drive to a nearby national park, which was amazing; we saw so many elephants. You can walk into some local shops as well. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were really good—best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka.

Our stay at Woodland Sanctuary was simply magical. The two-story wooden room was beautifully designed, offering both comfort and a rustic charm that made us feel connected to nature. The bathroom, finished with natural stones felt like a luxurious spa. Dudley and his son Maleesha were incredible hosts, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The breakfast was delightful, featuring fresh Sri Lankan dishes and fruits. The pool was large and refreshing, surrounded by a lush garden with breathtaking views. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

I had a fantastic stay at Sun Shade Resort & Spa, Habarana! The resort is absolutely beautiful, nestled in a serene natural setting that made it the perfect escape. The entire property was spotless and well-maintained, and the pricing was very reasonable for such an incredible experience. The pool was one of my favorite features – it was clean, refreshing, and a great spot to unwind. The staff and management were exceptional, always welcoming and attentive to every detail. I also loved spending time on the grounds playing badminton, which added a fun and active element to my stay. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
