this is a wonderful small family run business. there are only a couple of chalets and everything is run by family members from the taxis, to the safari to the food. The chalet was lovely and clean, we loved the outdoor bathroom and how authentic it was. the food served by Sachith and his family was absolutely delicious and we ate like kings. if you love authentic home cooking you are in for a great experience! the safari was well organised and we had breakfast, provided by Sachith around the lake during the trip - more delicious Sri Lankan food! we also enjoyed a few cold lion beers before dinner, much appreciated. if you like to enjoy experiences away from the crowds and get to know the local people more then this is definitely the place to go. Sachith and his family were very welcoming, friendly and provided a great service.

Its a lovely small hotel with very friendly owners. The lady of the house does all the cooking and we had the best breakfast and dinner of the whole holiday, We also went on the jeep safari organised by the hotel. The guide had good knowledge of the animals and he showed us lots of different things. We really enjoyed the safari.

Everything was great! A lovely little cottage in a beautiful little jungle garden. The family that ran it were exceptionally friendly and couldn’t be anymore helpful. Loved having them share their knowledge of all the spices and fruits growing in their paradise! Highly recommended. ☺️

Wow… we loved the stay in city elephant family resort. We stayed one night with our 2 kids and we felt like we spent the night in our own house. The breakfast was delicious. The room was very spacious, clean, cosy and Beautifully arranged for us to have a good night sleep. Highly recommend this beautiful family resort to others who would like to spend nights during your holidays with your family. The staff was really friendly and treated us so well. We will definitely be back next year for our next holiday in Sri Lanka.

We had a fantastic stay at Chill House Safari Resort. The room was spacious, beautiful and had everything we needed. A/C and Wifi worked really well. The best part about our stay was Hashan and his family, they are so lovely and did everything to make us feel comfortable. They also cooked dinner for us which was very delicious. We did the Safari with Hashan as well and it was the best experience. He is the best guide. He gave us lots of information about the animals and the park during the Safari. He has been a guide for a lot of time now and you can truly notice. He knows many good spots in the park so we were alone for almost the whole Safari and he is able to spot literally every animal, no matter how small. We saw so many different animals! He also organised for us to have breakfast in a small hut in the park which was so cool. So if you want to stay at Udawalawe and do a Safari, we can not reccomend this place enough!
