We had a wonderful stay at Alpl Resort! It is a charming place to stay in a beautiful area. The room was very large and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were hearty. The wellness and play areas are well appointed. And the owners are so kind. We left talking about when we can go back!

Our room had views of the mountains, comfortable beds and was very clean. Breakfast was amazing in quality with fresh and tasty choices. Do not miss their uhudler jam! We have tried local cakes on the terrace and for dinner tasted some of the best gourmet meals from the talented chef Tomaz Fink. Highly recommended!

Tennis courts are just across the street, and a swimming lake is a 3-minute walk away. The food was excellent even for a someone with celiac. Super friendly staff! Our stay at Hideaway Hotel Montestyria Chalets & Suiten was absolutely wonderful. We especially loved the private breakfast in the Chalet—it was such a lovely experience to enjoy it together as a family, making it even more special for our little one. The location was breathtaking, and everything about our stay was perfect. We also had the chance to relax in the sauna, which was a great addition to our getaway. Exploring the beautiful surroundings with our two-year-old son through scenic hikes made the weekend truly memorable. It was the perfect family retreat, and we can’t wait to return.

Mainly a seminar hotel, but happy to receive individual guests. Easy train ride from Vienna 70 min to Payerbach-Reichenau. From there the hotel offers transport, or alternatively walk 20-30 min along Schwarza river (avoid the Main Street). Indoor pool. Good breakfast in impressive historic dining room. Lunch and dinner options. Friendly staff. Good price-quality relation. (The hotel, while very nicely renovated, is not necessarily luxury, at least the parts that I’ve seen.) Good hiking options in and around Reichenau.
