Carefully managed piece of heaven on the edge between ocean and jungle with european comfort and fantastic cuisine! Fantastic beach where you can swim. You can see peacocks, monkeys, varans, mongoose, buffalo, fireflies around the resort. Spacious and extra clean rooms. Well maintained pool. Owners are great people and experienced travelers, they know how to make your stay calm and comfortable. Strongly recommended! All our big family hope to come back there next year!

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. My wife and I stayed at Lagoon Gate during our short trip to Tangalle. Due to the affordable cost of the lodgings, we were unsure what type or property it would be and what kind of service we would get; however, once arriving, we were very impressed with the property and the staff on site. The rooms are spacious and very clean, complete with a balcony to relax on in the evening. The swimming pool on site is warm and has a great surrounding area. As the property only has 6-8 guesthouses, it is not too overcrowded and an overall peaceful experience if you are looking to relax. For those active guests, kayaks are available to use free of change and gives you a chance to paddle over to the neighboring island to explore the beach (it took us about 25 Minutes in a double kayak). As it is in quite a remote location, there are no options to venture out for meals (unless you have a car); therefore, your only option is dining in the property’s on-site restaurant. This wasn’t a problem tho as the food was fantastic and the service even better. The portion sizes are massive and the owner was always giving us little extras, such as fruit, soup and even a few local spirits. The menu was reasonably priced, with the majority of main meals costing between 7-9 USD and had a fairly wide selection of local and international options. They also have a selection of beer and spirits for those looking to have a few drinks (also a stocked mini bar in your room). Over all, we would give our stay a solid 10/10 as it more than exceeded our expectations, considering the price. Will definitely be back in the future. Mark & Sarah

Among the various facilities are a terrace, a restaurant, as well as a bar. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. Amazing place with amazing lagoon View. The rooms are very large/big and comfortable. Lakshitha is trustful, helpful and very respectful, always on side when you need. Breakfast was served very tasty and varied every day. Vitamin + , he made sure of that. We where there in low season and loved the tranquility and lack of people.

A selection of options including local specialities, pancakes and fruits is served for breakfast, and breakfast in the room is also available. Guests can enjoy a meal at the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which serves Chinese cuisine and also offers vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options. The guesthouse is close by the lake and by foot 10 min to the main road to have some food. The safari as really nice as well, but there is no extra guide if you prefer so. The driver was the guide. We booked the tour through the guesthouse. The room was perfect for a quick stay and the family was really nice and helped with everything. We also just got a juice after our safari from the host.
