It's also very close to the river for morning walks.

The area is nice, quiet and a short walk to the main area/metro - so location-wise it is good. They have a nice louge where there are unliited snacks and drinks - its thoughtful, and my husband and I would often chill there after a long day. Yes, the rooms are compact - but please expect that all-around Japan in this price range. But they are clean and very comfortable. The staff is polite and helpful, they kept our suitcases while we toured the city and we really appreciated that - Thank you to the staff!! We would surely come again if we're in Kyoto.
